No, they ADR'd the lines to the dialogue for the most part. The hassle was in the fairly last-minute change of sound recording, editing and the mix.

Apparently he was overconcerned with the look and not the story. Brad Bird came in and re-wrote half of it, again apparently, to make the story stronger.
