Yep, bad isn't it? At least the book type package makes something a bit more special about it, and I saved myself a Crimbo pressie by being able to give away the PAL set to someone ...That's one of those funny English words isn't it? (And yes, I know, I was able to identify it from an old Blackadde...

Fox is starting to become desperate with the marketing for this thing...and we still don't even know the plot! The new plot-friendly full trailer is already up at Apple, and...no "raisins", this time. (In fact, the old summer teaser seems to have "mysteriously" disappeared off studio sites without ...

What happened over the 'Pirates' story? Sounds interesting. ...(slaps on the back) Why, glad you asked that, friend! :D (No, I'll try to keep these short--I know we're pretty much agreed against gratuitous Jim-bashing, but it's my only other great summed-up "Off the deep end" story: ) Leaving aside...

Swear on evidence, I'm not exaggerating, here: When I'd first read in a column that Dreamworks was making this, I'd actually thought the columnist was slipping in his own editorial satire dig against DW's inspirationlessly cannibalizing unoriginality, their neurotic dependence on name stars, and the...

anyway, yeah Mr. Hill is a hack. I love how he's had nothing interesting to say for the last 6 months. Ever since Lasseter installed the whole rule of silence at Disney. I guess his "inside sources" bailed on him. he's a joke now. True story-- Back during the first salvos to try and wipe "Cars" off...

Wendy's Jane wrote:But if films like "Alvin and the Chipmunks" start getting in the race for this stuff, where will it end?
I would hazard a safe guess that "Alvin & the Chipmunks" doesn't have to worry a thing about the Oscars. :P

Robin and Casablanca were, I believe 1.37:1 within the 1.78 frame. There shouldn't be an issue with pillarboxing. There isn't a problem with 2.35 movies that blank the top and bottom. Question was, did Warner just stick the 1.33 movies in a black screen, or was there any attempt to fill the void? (...

Has anyone noticed that Bee Movie has a huge competitor this Friday? If you mean the gangster picture, or the mushy John Cusack daddy picture whose suspense-free trailer we've had to suffer through since February, you're darn tootin' we haven't noticed. :P Fortunately, early Variety/Reuters reviews...

The new VCI attempt to make the '51 "Christmas Carol" widescreen seems to have invented the new term "Tilt-and-pan". Not sure how WB handled their releases of "Robin Hood" and "Casablanca" (as it was HD-DVD, so nobody was really caring much either way at the time)-- But the main issue seems t...

And also on Blu-ray! ;) Nah, if I don't have Blu by than, (I seriously doubt it!) I won't be double dipping. I LOVE Sleeping Beauty , but I'm happy with my current SE DVD. I splurged over the last year (two lucky bargains), and got both the new set AND the Playstation 3 to go with it-- I'm ready fo...

I didn't note a date on this, but did he just post this Monday? That's an old story that I read on his site maybe a couple of months ago!

Jim's not resorted to re-posting stories, has he, or did you just find this?
Uh, you'll notice 8/27 in the link, as in the post.

Here's the official press release . :) Edit: here's a little info from Jerry Beck. That Daffy pic looks stunning! And from "A Pest in the House"... Me, I'm just glad we're finally getting the full, uncut "Bugs Bonnets", without at least half the entire cartoon lost to assorted Saturday-morning cuts...

YES! If anyone hasn't noticed, I'm really looking forward to the special. I mean, its one of my favorite TV traditions of all time! The "Your Not Elected" is good too, if just for the ending. And for those who haven't seen it, it's just for the ending that the two will always end up being shown tog...

Betty Boop has always been, first and foremost, a 'sexy' cartoon character. I honestly don't see how this is much different from, say, the licensed merchandise that depicts her in skimpy bathing suits (or in the 'nude', in a bathtub), as a 'biker' chick, belly-dancer, or any number of other tittila...

Ahhh, I can hardly wait! :) I have one more disc to finish, and than I'll finally be done with volume 1. I hadn't realized a volume 2 was even 'in question' .. :o Though, it wouldn't have been the first time I'd collected something labelled 'volume 1', that never had a follow-up volume. Not the fir...
