At this point although I'm sure I'll upgrade to BD as they come out, I'm mostly looking forward to Fantasia and Fantasia 2000. I have everything else on DVD and can wacht it at any time. I just never got around to buying those two when they came out last time.

Now that I think of it, I bet it's a pricetag issue. Gilliam's producers are probably asking a higher price than most American distributors (in this current economic climate) are willing to pony-up. His last few movies haven't been box-office hits and they're probably afraid they won't recoup their ...

It's certainly very interesting news. Disney has already been releasing a lot of Marvel's stuff on television and DVD, so it's just making their relationship deeper. For whatever reason, i keep thinking theme parks. Universal Studios has alwasy had the Marvel rides so I expect that those will stay t...

Even if I haven't been thrilled with all of Gilliam's work, I would be interested in seeing any collaboration he has with an animation powerhouse like Pixar.

I did finally end up watching it last week. I really liked it. It wasn't the best movie I have seen all summer, but it was pretty close. I was very impressed with the special effects and the creature designs. The beginning of the film was a bit jarring, mainly because I'm not sure if I'm supposed to...

At least the heads fit in with the concept of the show.

District 9 was on Entertainment Weekly's cover this past week so it's definitely getting a big push from its distributors. I'm guessing it should be a hit, but maybe not as big as some people think. It should probably do Cloverfield numbers. Peter Jackson still has a lot of clout with consumers.

I think they're just afraid of how to market this film. They don't want to be seen as capitalizing on Heath Ledger's death.

I'm looking forward to the documentary. I saw the trailer a few days back and got excited for the product. As someone originally from Latin America, I always thought that these were fun and entertaining films and the animator's visit to the continent actually was a landmark event for artists in the ...

As with all Miyazaki films, I'm looking forward to this. I hope it's more successful (in the US) than Howl's Moving Castle.

Re: Top 25 Animated Film Characters

Yea what gives Nemo over Marlin or Dory wtf?! I completely agree with you on this one Dusterian. Many of those are great supporting characters and are certainly memorable. However, while Finding Nemo may be one of my favorite Pixar films, Nemo is by far not my favorite character. Dori would have be...

This reminded me of a list by TV Guide a few years back. That one was for TV cartoons, but it was a comprehensive list: 1. Bugs Bunny 2. Homer Simpson 3. Rocky and Bullwinkle 4. Beavis and Butt-head 5. The Grinch 6. Fred and Barney 7. Angelica Pickles 8. Charlie Brown and Snoopy 9. SpongeBob SquareP...
