Re: Pixar's WALL-E
Perhaps the point of their designs is to make them look sad? Being on earth for so long alone would justify Wall-E looking sad. and the eyes can angle to look happy or sad. This is Pixar, they aren't idiots. You did not even read everything I said, including , "I know why they were chosen to look s...

Will 2D Animation Die?
Oh, then I'll try to remember saying computer assisted, then. I actually prefer the term rendered, though, it sounds neater to say and, well, it is rendered in the computer. If you think about it, even 2D animation could be computer assisted! It's colored in the computerand there's the Great Mouse D...

Katrina Van Tassel vs. Cinderella
Well, we're comparing a character from a short to a character from a film, I think they would probably intend the star of an animated feature to be the better designed one. They probably worked harder on her, at least. Cinderella looks more natural, more realistic, less seductive, and less dumb than...

Pixar's WALL-E
Don't know if this has been mentioned before, too many pages to read...but... I don't think WALL-E or his other trash-picking robot comrades are designed right. What I mean is their eyes permanantly look sad. That means their eyes will never be able to express anger, happiness, surprise, or any othe...

Will 2D Animation Die?
I prefer hand-drawn (don't like calling it 2D) animation over CGI anyday! I love lines. I love the lines and paint and ink that is only for hand-drawn animation. I love how they can draw those lines that keep everything in place and make the object 3-D, that's right, traditional animation already ha...

Ways to Improve Animated News?
Thank you, Ben and James ! I tried the stuff you mentioned, and it all worked nicely. However, I was talking about something for the ease of people who might not be as computer savvy. Still, if it's true most people would prefer it open in the same window, then I guess it should stay as it is. I won...

Ways to Improve Animated News?
I think whenever we click on a link from Animated News' main page, it should open in a new window. It annoys me opening in the same window because then I might want to go farther from the web site and I have to re-type the address or hit the back button a lot to go back to the main page. More import...

Sleeping Beauty: Platinum Edition
I agree with Dusterian, I like the 2nd cover the best.. and the 1st cover second best. :) No, I do like the 2nd a lot, but the 4th cover (purple background, Maleficent turning into the dragon, two Phillips) is my favorite! I'm still hoping that one of the French covers makes it as the Blu-ray cover...

Disney Princess Jigsaws
Oh...sorry Ben . However, I do find it odd that it's not okay for a poll about which is the prettiest princess, which directly refers to how they were designed, a very animationy thing, but this is about merchandise (that doesn't even look much like them, I must add), and yet it's okay. Once polls l...

Disney Princess Jigsaws
It turns out this is NOT the right place to post something like this. Me and some others have been talking about Disney princess a lot and people complained it was too much about them. We can only talk about Disney characters in relation to their films, and the general animation world. EDIT: I guess...

Re: Sleeping Blu-ray Covers
No, I meant the only two that "work", as in the only two that make sense/are good/look right/would be good covers... Oh. Well, I personally think the 2nd one would be good, too. You know,i have a feeling that the picture you posted in Ultimate Disney of that press release in Japan will be the final...

Re: Secret of NIMH Family Fun Edition
One more thing (I hadn't planned on asking this, but as long as I'm here...) is it worth shelling (pun not intended) out all the extra money for the Little Mermaid Platinum edition, or can I be happy with the Special Edition which still includes The Little Match Girl? There's only two DVDs of The L...

Re: Sleeping Blu-ray Covers
From that "click here" link, the only ones that work are the third (Maleficent green) or the fourth (same basic design, with the addition of Samson and purple). None of them are all that hot though! The best cover was the deluxe LaserDisc edition from ten years or so ago. Well, the link still works...

Sleeping Blu-ray Covers
From various possibilities for Sleeping Beauty 's Platinum Edition cover, I have assembled this preview: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b55/Dusterian/AuroraNewsPECover.jpg However, if you would like to see 5 possible covers for France, then look through this French forum . If you can't find it, c...

Ultimate Movie Mash-Ups
Congratulations Ben ! Amazing! That is truly the ULTIMATE movie mash-up! Gone Baby Gone With the Wind Once , I don't think it works because the full title of the movie is The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, you have to use the full title, like The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea of Fear.
