It's not really a bad movie, unless you know anything at all about Superman--- then it's an awful travesty.

We watched the Donner Cut a few nights ago. The wife and I greatly enjoyed it. I was amazed at just how much of it was new (though my wife's memories of Superman II were hazy anyway). It was definitely worth getting (in HD, for me). I never expected a polished film, considering its origins, so I was...

We never did get to It's a Wonderful Life, but we did watch Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas and Muppet Christmas Carol the past two days. And today? Something else entirely.... Gojira (original Godzilla). I'd really been looking forward to cracking that one open. Fun's over now. Gotta get back to w...

Likely we'll be watching It's a Wonderful Life. I've probably watched it about 15 times, and the last scene still gets me every time.

Well, it had to happen sometime, I guess. At 95, he did indeed have a long and productive life. I grew up on H-B cartoons, and will always be thankful for the joy they brought to me.

I have a review of I Want A Dog For Christmas to post, actually. I should get that ready to go. Quick take: I really liked it. Christmas Tales is on the same DVD, and while it's a minor entry in the Peanuts pantheon of animated specials, it's got that old magic working in it.

The first time I met Mr. Nodell was at an Orlando comic convention (probably the Megacon). I asked him to sign my copy of All Star Archives Vol. 1, then asked Shelly Moldolff to do the same just a few minutes later. That book is now priceless to me. Sigh. Another legend has passed...

I'm eager to see that special, as I really enjoyed seeing One hour in Wonderland. As for other features, well, I've never bougfht PP on DVD before, so I'll look forward to getting this version. I do have the LD, though, so this will be only a minor upgrade. I would have liked to at least have gotten...

We'll definitely be covering this at Animated Views. I'll be looking at it ASAP (my copy is on the way), so I'll let you know what I think then! I know my daughter's quite anxious to see it. :)

Hi, folks! Just thought I'd say a quick "how ya doin'?" to everyone out there in Animated News 'n' Views land. I'm providing articles for Animated Views, including about 20 reviews so far, as well as the Filmation survey. I have a lot more articles archived and will get them up as soon as I can, alo...

You mean Remi?
Raemee?
Ramy?
;)

I wasn't sure if Ben's answer was a joke or not, but just to clarify--- the director of the Spidey films is actually "Sam Raimi". And having him direct a Superman film would be very interesting.

Hanna-Barbera DVD sets for 2007

At his blog , Earl Kress has revealed the tentative plans for H-B sets for 2007. He does stress that these are only under consideration, and that various factors may play a role in whether or not we do see these in 2007, but for now these are the titles we may hope to see: Birdman and the Galaxy Tri...

The news did just break in the past few days. Yes, Cruise was once rumored, but I like Downey for the movie much better. Kinda out of left field, but also kinda genius to consider him, I think. He's a great performer.
