Re:

A picture on set with the new Muppet. WOW! IT'S THE NEW MUPPET! A...Sesame Street whatsit... :| (And yeah, I know, he's the Country Bears:Haley Joel Osment equivalent in the plot, but still : I sense a distinct lack of Henson/Juhl insanity, filled in by a lot of people trying to imitate what they r...

Re: Here's the NEW Wonder Woman!

Too bad the script is pooh... [no Winnie] To wit, accdg to rumor: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2011-02-02/wonder-woman-a-sneak-peak-at-david-e-kelleys-script/ (I'm getting serious chick-audience empowerment-fantasy "And they call us guys geeks... " vibes from this one, ala ...

Re: Cars 2

As someone on the TAG board pointed out, why did he have to get the yellow pickup that he drives?--
Wouldn't he have been more recognizable as a surf(-shirted) beach woody-wagon?

Re: AV 2011 Oscar Contest

Yup, that's my pick too. All this talk about Social Network is reminding me of the year everyone was talking about Benjamin Button, which didn't end up being more than just talk. :P Yeah, but BB didn't end up on the cover of Time-- It's not just the "trend", it's those who're propagating it: Everyw...

And much as I'd LIKE to pick TS3 for Best Picture, I don't need to read three dozen old-fogey "Facebook is changing our society!" media columns to guess what bit of disappointment we're in for this year....I'll have to go with likelihood, if I want the disks. (Still, was just voting over on Roger Eb...

Re:

Wow...that really is lackluster...that's just a b/w photo hued blue! :? Well, hate to tell ya, BUT... :P While I'm tolerant of first-film iconography and the 20th-Anniversary extras, my complaint is that it's not Tron on the cover! Looks like Ram, the insurance-salesman. Couldn't they have gotten o...

Re:

IOW, the costume he wore as a 40's soldier was distinctly more GI and low-tech than the one he wore twenty years later as an Avenger, and we're looking at his WWII years. (At least, as current Marvel canon retro-imagined them.) If you want The Icon, hold yer horses, that's coming in the next movie--...

He played the only Dracula I cared for aside from Bela Lugosi. I think he almost liked playing King Haggard the best, though... ...There, NOW we've got the tie-in! :D Just finished watching a cheap "documentary" series on Netflix where Lee hosted minor horror clips, but even there, there was plenty...

Here's the Super Bowl spots that were aired (and not YouTubed off of somebody's TV), for those who don't live in Wisconsin and missed them: http://blog.movies.yahoo.com/blog/565-first-captain-america-footage-shown-during-the-super-bowl Cap looks pretty good, and a much more comic-canon Red Skull. Re:

Not sure why you need to attack me for wishing movie critics didn't fawn all over everything Pixar. I had the same problem with The Lion King and original Shrek. Good movies that were elevated to outstanding by the critics. Hell, I watched Despicable Me for the firswt time on the weekend and walked...

Re:

Namely the feature-length documentary, which really IS good (not only in that you forget just how much we didn't know about computers in 1982, but I'd actually forgotten that Steve Lisberger used to do those old radio ads ), and the deleted scenes-- But also added a new obligatory "Look back at the ...

Re:

And basically yes, Bill, we know: Pixar's like the grade-A student everyone hated in fourth grade, who passed every test. How'd the student get that way? By passing every test. Yes, you're sick of critics "fawning" over Pixar, and you'd like them to stop, for a little variety. Then why the resentful...

Also: "Eww, Pixar just had a sequel and they've got two more!" Glad you noticed, Hawkeye. And they've been announced for what, two years now, three?--And as noted, all with extraneous corporate-ownership motivations that have nothing to do with being "money hungry" or "out of ideas". Oh, but I'm sor...

Re:

Okay, Carl? I've held back to be polite. Seriously. I know you're giggling with naughty abandon at Saying Mean Things About Pixar because of some personal issues, but that's not why it's getting old-- It's getting old because you're making what is currently THE OLDEST THREAD ON THE INTERNET every si...

Re: Tron: Legacy

I like the looks of the set, but I don't want to pay extra for a useless 3D disc. Sorry, but no 3D in my house unless you can make it happen without the glasses and the headaches. You may have to settle for "Without those heavy battery-operated glasses", as the industry's reconsidering shutter glas...
