Re: Disney's Cruella (Live-Action)

Wild One is a little non-subtle and too on the nose, and darn it if the fumes from that flammable material she used to pull that trick would have wafted right through her and passed her out...but that’s one heck of a way to make an entrance! ;)

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

I would wait for Covid jab 2 before going near a flu booster. They don’t hand the flu out here in the UK until nearer the fall anyway. Sounds like we will be getting a flu and Covid booster this time (in the fall) here, though it’s advised for after having both jabs of the Covid vax, if it’s a two-j...

Just watched the Maggie short and, no, I didn’t see the point.

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Nomadland is a beautiful, lovely little film that’s just about normal, nice people being normal and nice to each other. We could do with more of that, as a people (and maybe a little more around here especially?)...

Re: The "Best" of 2020

I have never seen a Nightmare On Elm Street movie. I have seen the second half of the first one a few times, and think I’ve seen some/quite a bit of what I think was the third, but that’s it. Same with Friday 13th: seen the first and think that’s about it. I have, for some reason though, see...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Er...and you know it doesn’t connect to Phase 4...how? And I’d say that the cast, hot director and pent up anticipation is going to power this, and all these films actually, to their usual billion dollar club grosses, or at least near to that and certainly upwards of $500m+ each. Can you just imagin...

So, surely the "4" is a mirror of the Avengers A, for Phase IV...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

It was just how cool he was. He’s Batman. Forever. ;) More seriously, I took it to be the resolution that Bruce had reconciled himself to after debating internally if he really was, or could be, Batman. In the end he chose that he could be both Bruce Wayne, *and* Batman, forever*. * Or, er, until hi...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Marvels sounds like a WandaVision sitcom. Could go either way...

Wakanda Forever feels "cheap" and uninspired. I don’t want something like "Legacy Of A Warrior", or something, but just using a catchphrase from the first one is glib, lazy, and sounds like a lower-budgeted DTV or something!

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

From what I understand, the actor had been cast but not filmed his scene. When ZS wanted to add the epilogue, WB said no to Lantern (understandably, as far as I can see) so he replaced him with Martian Manhunter. And the film would have been a pretty perfect send-off for this story — and still left ...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I believe Red Tails (and The Clone Wars movie) were both LucasFilm films distributed by Warners and, while Disney was able to wrangle the rights for Clones, Warners may have had a prior longterm deal for Tails, hence the bounce.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

If it’s the original 20th Century film, I fully recommend the first hour of Oklahoma! as a shining example of the big, wide R&H musicals of the late fifties and sixties: it’s fun, funny, beautiful to look at, and full of high energy musical numbers with great choreography and spirited performances! ...
