Ben's baaaaaa-aaaaack!

Hey guys... I just wanted to jump in here and apologise to our great readers and my fellow working colleagues here at Animated News & Views for my complete recent no-show on the sites and forums. Following a very nasty virus almost two weeks ago, I was completely shut out of my PC. I had to buy and ...

The only thing I can say is yes, it IS a business decision. And here's the business... Foreign prints need dubbing, but as you say, Australia and the UK speak English and can accept the American accented original dubs. So that's exactly why we get them later...because we can understand the American ...

I think since theatrical shorts get so much exposure on TV compilation shows, or indeed as "episodes" as they now call them, in their own blocks, they can get away with it, and true to say it's nice them supporting these releases.

After I got past Jim's popups, this seems like the right direction to go. Disney, of late, has been all-too easily letting future project details slip, making decisions like replacing Chris Sanders with Williams and the ups-and-downs of Rapunzel easy fodder for us to get upset over. When Brad Bird w...

Still boring. They really need to start with some new marketing tricks if they want to push this to a fourth film. They've even gone back to just having the characters standing in front of the Shrek S. Like jo-blo says, "I'm starting to feel like the whole Shrek thing has run its course". Nothing ne...

No, it's a new film with Tom Cruise starring and producing. The good thing is that it's co-written by Chris McQuarrie who did Usual Suspects, so the story might actually be something good. Singer should stay away from superheroes. This way, they have effectively killed the Superman series without na...

Raggedy Ann had a laserdisc release. It was shot in 2.35:1 and though the LD crops the sides, it's actually been mastered wrongly and presents a 1.85:1 ratio in anamorphic! I have a DVD conversion of the LD, but the film doesn't hold up that well. Still, we should see it on DVD especially since so m...

Well, Tobey isn't really any great shakes as an actor unless he's being very well directed. Raimi brings that out in him well, but only for what's needed for what is basically a layered comic-book movie. He looks good in the trailers though, and we don't want him changing too much film to film do we...

Re: 2007's Upcoming Animated Features

Thanks for kickstarting a new thread Redwolfe, but I'm guessing dancing/surfing penguins will invade whatever! Here's my take on the films I'm interested in... TMNT (3/23/07) - Never being a huge Turtles fan, I'm looking forward to coming to this "fresh" and hopefully being entertained by something ...
