Re: Disney's Frozen

Really hating all these exclusives. At least those should show on the later "Ultimate" edition.

Re: Disney's Frozen

That's what I figured. I wasn't sure if the UK set has more on it already, but I highly doubt it. Thus, holding out for what comes later.

Thank goodness I've become smarter with my purchases over the years. So sick of double dipping.

Re: Disney's Frozen

<t>Frozen's success continues to astonish. Nice to see Dis finally have a huge hit on so many fronts.<br/> <br/> And now I await the announcement of the 3D Blu-ray release. (I know, still a little way's off--- but a release is expected before Christmas.) I had pre-ordered the region-free UK release ...

Re: Muppets Most Wanted

And my daughter called the last Muppet movie her favorite movie ever. Maybe your kids just don't like the Muppets. Of course, the last film was more of a re-introduction than an introduction. My daughter had already watched 3 seasons of The Muppet Show, so she was primed. In truth, I found the last ...

Re: Peanuts

:)

Peanuts was probably the most highly merchandised strip of all time, and other hands worked on licensing artwork and comics, so fans need to chill on this a bit. The strip ended its daily run with Schulz's death, as he wanted, but it's nice to see it around in other forms.

Re: Bakshi’s son restores deleted Lord of the Rings footage

Neat to finally see this. A pity that they ran out of time before being able to finish the film properly.

Re: Peanuts

I place Sony ahead of Blue Sky in terms of whose films I look forward too, but Peanuts may change that.

Re: Muppets Most Wanted

Huh. That's the opposite of what I'd heard. I thought this was supposed to be the zany follow-up to the last one's sentimental tone, similar to the how the original first two movies played. Regardless, it looks pretty good to me. Glad to hear you liked it.

Re: Live Action Yamato On The Way!

I've never seen the original show, but am keen to check out the movie. Patience has won, as I was about to order a European release. Amazon pre-order for the US version is under 10 bucks.

So, I suppose it'll take a few more years for the Gatchaman film to come out here, too, eh?

Re: Peanuts

This actually looks, animation-wise, to be one of the most innovative features to come out yet from the "big 5" studios. I wish the others would try to get away from the generic "realism" we've been stuck with since Toy Story. They're cartoons, people! Have some fun, and be creative, I say. Not ever...

Looks alright. Not sure if the premise grabs me yet, but I'd be curious to see see an episode or two.

Re: Peanuts

I was a little concerned about Blue Sky's ability to pull it off, but I think it looks pretty good. I just hope they don't get too "cutesy" with the animation. The CGI seems pretty decent, adding some dimension without going overly 3D with it. I am cautiously optimistic. They just may pull this off.

Re: pacific rim

The acting didn't bother me either. But then, in my mind I was comparing it to dubs of Godzilla movies, so maybe my expectations were not too high.

Re: pacific rim

I think we did get the film that was advertised. Some of us just expected something different based on the pedigree of the director.

Re: pacific rim

Eric actually has a pretty apt analogy here. However, I LOVED Jackson's Kong--- overblown, perhaps, but tons of fun. Pacific Rim, though I quite enjoyed it, is far from being a great film, particularly given the reputation of its director, making it a disappointment. As droo said, Pac Rim failed to ...
