The film actually does a pretty good job of explaining their version of time travel. Long story short, and trying not to spoil too much, going back in time and changing something ripples both ways , effecting the future AND the past. So yes, they killed off Keaton, but after that and before going ba...

I don't know what they originally had, but that scene as is completely played off as a joke. And then, I think, reversed in the post-credits scene.

The big reveal at the end sounds really dumb. Like Burton's Planet Of The Apes dumb, just there for the sake of trying to shock-surprise.

If we're talking about the same thing, it's not a big reveal at all but played completely as a joke.
