I don't know about that whole Shrek logic thing --- if the ol' Tomatometer on Rottentomatoes.com is any indicator, The Incredibles should win handily. Shrek 2 got 90% fresh rating from critics, while The Incredibles got a 97%! :D

"Well, Fahrenheit 9/11 didn't get any Oscar nominations." Because 1.) Moore disqualified it. 2.) It reminds them who lost the election. Well, number 1 is a fact. Number 2 is only your speculation. It's extremely unlikely that anyone would not nominate a film simply because "it reminds them who lost...

Well, I'll stand with you Mickey A! I have long felt that Spider-man 2 was the best film I had seen in 2004 and at least deserved a Best Picture nomination. I'm not alone in my assessment; a very prominent film critic I'm sure we all know, none other than Roger Ebert, said as much on his show. He st...

While I enjoyed Shrek 2 and felt it was almost as good as the first, I would find it hard to accept if they choose to give it the Oscar over "The Incredibles". I do feel that "The Incredibles" will win, but part of me has that uneasy feeling the Academy will lean toward Shrek 2 because the first one...

Re: My Predictions

The Incredibles Shrek 2 Shark Tale And what did I tell you all?.... Yep, you nailed all three! Pretty good! Shark Tale is the one from that list I did not see. What'd you think of it (if you saw it?) I didn't go see it because I was not impressed in the least by any of the trailers or teaser...

Only one real surprise (somewhat) here: The Incredibles nomination for Best Original Screenplay. I'm very, very pleased to hear that because it seems that the Academy all too often overlooks animated films for this category, as though an animated film does not need a script or screenplay... Shouldn...

I don't know why, but I wasn't impressed by "Boundin". It's the first Pixar film, short or feature length, that I really didn't care for. I was a little too cutesy for my taste. It was visually all that impressive either.

Let's not forget Spider-Man 2 in the special effects category. It's definitely a very strong contender in that category. I feel it should win.

Glad you gave us the link as I hadn't heard about this film before either! What I saw makes me very eager to see this, as I love stop-motion animation immensely. :D Visually, it is absolutely stunning; very dark and eerie, in a Sleepy Hollow-esque way, and that's a very good thing. If the story is a...

I am astounded that The Polar Express is being ignored by many in this forum or dissed altogether! How can you all not see that this is not just a good film, it's a GREAT film! I fully concur with Roger Ebert when he said that this movie is the kind of film that goes on to become a classic. He naile...

Is there anyone else besides me who feels that The Polar Express hasn't been given its due praise for just how great a film this was? I am honestly torn between which is the better film: The Incredibles or The Polar Express. I give the edge slightly to The Incredibles but Polar Express was such a be...

Sorry to sound so incredulous, but I've never heard anyone say they actually thought Home on the Range was a good film. I can appreciate that it was a musical (I love musicals!) but therein lies part of the problem with that film: the songs. Completely forgettable, as were the characters, with few e...

I've been using Netflix now for almost a year and let me tell you, I swear by them! I don't have a complaint in the world about them, they are definitely the way to go for the movie lover. And there is not catch: there really is no due date or late fee (no fine print!)

The Incredibles of course!

The best animated film nominees will likely be: The Incredibles Shrek 2 The Polar Express SpongeBob Squarepants movie The Incredibles will win, though this year I think it's a very, very close and tough race with Shrek 2 and The Polar Express. If either one of those two won I wouldn't be terribly su...
