Very pretty promotional shot, indeed! :]

I'm a sucker for colours, and I love how lush they are in this photo.

Could just be the lighting in this particular shot, but I also really appreciate how warm everything looks - I think that's what gives it that 'storybook-look'. :]

Hey, Grunt. Might want to hide some of that text. Some people here haven't seen the movie yet. :) Done! Sorry about that  - films often take a lot longer to come to Australia. 'Up', for instance, didn't get here until September. I tend to avoid this forum myself until after I've seen the flic...

Princess and the Frog only opened on Jan 1 here in Australia, so I couldn't see it until then :P. Sufficed to say I've seen it twice now, and while I enjoyed it more the second time around, I have to say that my opinions don't differ too largely from most other folks here. For me, my biggest issue w...

Hey, actually looks pretty solid! The dragon has a really interesting design, wasn't expecting it to look like that at all but it works really well. Not totally sold on the kid's voice yet, either, but it could grow on me. I agree that the dragon looks very interesting. However, I absolutely love t...

Hey guys, I just saw the film (I'm in Australia). I've put my impressions with the 'hide' tag because it's got spoilers. :P I felt that the first half of the film was the most enjoyable portion. Emotionally, I think that there was some good stuff to be had there. To me, that bit with those soldiers ...

I'm actually quite aware of this, and I consciously chose my words to make sure that I didn't come across that way. :S I'm not trying to slam today's cartoons, and I love many of them. :] @ Eddievalient - I actually am watching Clone Wars at the moment. :] It is indeed a cute show, and now that you ...

So no one spotted this yet? I altered the parts to b/w to make it clear. :) Oh wow, I totally didn't notice that - that is amazing! :D About the farting jokes - I agree that they make me cringe a little :S. Not really my cup of tea, and even though I'm not really familiar with Cajuns' portrayal in ...

Modern shows with that 80s essence

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if you guys know of any 'modern' shows (2000-2009) which are 80s-ish in their nature :P. What I mean by '80s-ish' is the way that 80s cartoons usually had a lot of cool ideas - ideas which are cool by merit of being based on cool toys :P. Take Centurions, for example - e...

I've been watching the trailer again and again, and it STILL gives me goosebumps with how epic it looks! I'm having such a tough time getting the visuals out of my head - this cartoon looks truly inspired. They've gone through so much trouble to make this look and feel like a 'classic' Disney cartoo...

Sorry if I'm 'necro-ing' this thread, but I just wanted to chip in a little and felt that it'd be worse to make a new thread :P. I didn't even know this film existed until a couple of years ago, and I've finally seen it :]. Definitely interesting stuff, but like Ben's great review mentioned, it feel...

Any of the great SCUMM games? (Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, etc.) Ooooooh, seconded - those would make fantastic feature-length cartoons :]. Still, the visual style is already so fitting, and many of the 'cutscenes' in the game are so cinematic to begin with that I'm not too s...

THIS is a GOOD show! Granted, I didn't like the Blue Beetle team-up the week before (the Green Arrow segment was good, though), but the Plastic Man episode was great! The Plastic Man origin was tweaked a bit. Basically, think Joker origin but instead of Joker falling into a vat of acid and getting ...

Ooooooooh, thanks for the heads-up, Daniel! :] I actually think that the Penguins can sustain a feature-length film, but I'd like to see something done in the vein of 'The Naked Gun' or 'Airplane'. Comedies these days are too concerned with having 'heart' and inevitably have several down moments (ta...

Re: Does anybody know where X-men Evolution was animated?

I know I'm going off topic, but I hope no one minds if I just give a little shout out to Evolution :P As I mentioned, I'm going through the series again, and I'm just so blown away by how much life there is in this series. Tons of little mannerisms all lovingly given screen time...it really shows, s...

Foreign language animation - subtitles or dubs?

Given the recently revealed English voice cast for Ponyo on a Cliff, I thought this would be a fitting topic to bring up. I don't know - maybe nobody else here has this problem, but whether or not to watch a foreign animated film in its dubbed form or not is a big problem for me :P. I'm a bit of a p...
