THE HAND BEHIND THE MOUSE! OH. MY. GOD. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This just made my year! This means all of Disney's "Golden Age" and/or achival documentaries (Reluctant Dragon, the 1950s TV shows, Frank & Ollie and Walt: Man Behind The Myth) are on disc. Great!!

Nope. It's 1.78:1 all the way.

The day when older 1.33 programming will be cropped, as the 1960s theatrical re-issue of Gone With The Wind was, is not too far off, and it's already happening with arhive footage being excerpted within documentaries being made nowadays...often badly.

I was at Elstree Studios over the weekend and heard a LOT of Indy rumors from people "close to production". I can't say a lot for breaking their confidence, but 3D is certainly an option. The only thing that could scupper that is that they are DEFINITELY shooting on FILM, which is Spielberg's choice...

Can't wait to see this now. This weekend for sure. The theater down the road from me has it in 3D to boot! New digital conversion! I was part of an event at my loca theater last night, and in one of the screens MTR was playing. Since I had access to the projection room, I caught some scenes through ...

Doubt it, unless they get that far with the collection. I'll be stopping with the Fleischers, and maybe one set of early Famous as a sampler, but there have been many releases of PD Famous cartoons and they're really not that good. The Fleischers really captured Segar's world...the later Famous shor...

Let us know your system set-up George. Archiving my LDs to DVD is something I've only just started to think about. Even stuff I now have on DVD might be worth porting over.

George Lucas said in the article that he's never making a movie in 2D again.
Apart from Indy IV ;)

Awwe, crap. Widescreen ONLY?? So glad I'm keeping my LD with the FULL image. JB was animated to 1.37:1 negative, meaning that it was cropped in theaters, with the top and bottom sliced off (don't worry, it was framed with that in mind). Walt preferred this as it mean the size was right for later TV ...

Paper Dreams is a great book (another Canemaker classic, if memory serves).

I just got X3 out and will watch it soon, so will let you know! :)

Marry me! Ahhh, our first marriage! Seriously, the word is that we'll get an extended SR whenever and if ever a sequel is made. This has been confirmed within WB at least, and I am probably breaking some kind of stupid law by leaking it here, but I hated, hated, HATED SR and can't be bothere...

They announced they'd be doing them this way last year.

Yep, the first set for me, and maybe the second. Five hours of bonuses? I yam so there!

Ben's baaaaaa-aaaaack!

Hey guys... I just wanted to jump in here and apologise to our great readers and my fellow working colleagues here at Animated News & Views for my complete recent no-show on the sites and forums. Following a very nasty virus almost two weeks ago, I was completely shut out of my PC. I had to buy and ...

The only thing I can say is yes, it IS a business decision. And here's the business... Foreign prints need dubbing, but as you say, Australia and the UK speak English and can accept the American accented original dubs. So that's exactly why we get them later...because we can understand the American ...

I think since theatrical shorts get so much exposure on TV compilation shows, or indeed as "episodes" as they now call them, in their own blocks, they can get away with it, and true to say it's nice them supporting these releases.
