Re: YouTube Goodness

Two more videos... I'm on a roll this week! But seriously, I LIKE Battlestar Galactica -- the ORIGINAL series. I don't much care for the reimagined SyFy version (by Ronald Moore of ST:TNG, ST:DS9 fame) that is Galactica in name only. The reimagined version lacked the optimism and larger-than-life ch...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Disney/Pixar's X-wings -- the next LOGICAL spin-off of the Star Wars movies! It can't be worse than the prequels, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ3n_D1zBrg P.S. -- This is a joke, guys... It's NOT a real film. The video was posted on April 1st which is a HUGE clue besides the notice at the ...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Technically MIGHT be a double-post but this is for those who DON'T want to wade through the Star Wars thread => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEerIGTm2nE Heh... Talk about the ultimate black screen for movie models! I didn't want to push my luck with TRIPLE posts so here's ANOTHER neat YouTube vid...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

The lengths Star Wars fans will go to get tickets for the next movie! I got the Youtube link from http://www.coasttocoastam.com/pages/star-wars-x-wing-in-space Weird radio show but occasionally something interesting pops up there. This is kinda neat! I've never seen anybody handle black screen for m...

Re: YouTube Goodness

No, I meant 2001! The reality of spaceflight has been so disappointing! Trapped in orbit for over 40 years and that's darn boring manned flight-wise. I think even Stanley Kubrick would have been disappointed that his movie looked MORE futuristic than current manned spaceflight does! (Then again, loo...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Yeah, 2001 really WAS pretty darn disappointing when it did come around! No nuclear-powered spaceships taking people to Jupiter/ Computers STILL aren't as smart (and alive) as HAL-9000 was! ( => and that might be a good thing... People are forgetting about The Terminator ... THAT film is getting clo...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

More 'nice news' to add to the pile of REALLY, REALLY 'good' PR that DC/WB gets these days ==> http://www.newsarama.com/24341-gerry-conway-calls-out-dc-on-character-royalty-issues.html <SIGH> There was a bad feeling among a lot of older comic fans and comic professionals when it was announced that W...

Re: Avengers 2 Age of Ultron

Good! Just as long as I wasn't hearing things! ;) Guys...what's with the "we get to see it first" crap!? The darn movie was MADE OVER HERE! I saw many names in there that I knew (and Rand knows one of 'em too!). As a result, we had the world premiere here last week in London! As we know, the real r...

Re: Avengers 2 Age of Ultron

That's too bad... Yeah, that usually happens with film series. Great first film, diminishing returns afterwards. I think the only two film series that I saw get better with the second film were Star Wars (The Empire Strikes Back) and Star Trek (The Wrath of Khan). The funny thing is that over thirty...

Re: YouTube Goodness

There's another video with the same actress... From ANN: "Gravure idol Risa Yoshiki's mini-series I Want Risa Yoshiki to Get Angry At Me (Yoshiki Risa ni Okoraretai) was popular enough to get re-upped for sequels. If you didn't catch the video last year, TV Tokyo enlisted Yoshiki to star in a series...

Re: YouTube Goodness

From the files of Japan is WEIRD... That's all I can say! From http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2015-04-27/risa-yoshiki-is-still-mad-wants-slackers-to-get-to-work/.87591 "TV Tokyo enlisted Yoshiki to star in a series of short, late-night videos where she yells insults at the audience. Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

This doesn't solve any script issues, but it makes for a better looking Superman film! It just wasn't Superman, top-to-bottom. It was such a dreary film and the Superman I know was always an inspirational character. That was one of the fundamental differences between Batman and Superman that I disc...

Re: Prelude to Axanar leads to Blu ray/DVD release

I think there's a better chance than you might think that it WILL end up on a big screen somewhere. The film will, regardless, be made... If there is any really great development coming out of the Internet vis-a-vis movies it's the fact that something like Axanar can and WILL happen if enough people...

Prelude to Axanar leads to Blu ray/DVD release

I'm surprised this film was NEVER mentioned more than once on the boards! It's been around for many months now... This is the best fan-produced Star Trek film I have ever seen... Of course, it helped that film veterans produced the film and the actors were actually actors and not just fans cosplayin...

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2015-04-22/ghibli-ocean-waves-blu-ray-listed-in-japan-with-english-subtitles/.87372 Supposedly this is the last Ghibli movie that had yet to make the jump to Blu ray... It's a 72-minute TV movie described as a high school romance. (They have a ton of thos...
