Yep, agree with Ben & YCougar. Best should mean Best. And take a look back at what has won so far; it hasn't all been Pixar (or any genuine Disney): For films released in: 2001 - Shrek (Dreamworks) 2002 - Spirited Away (Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli, US release through Disney but NOT a Disney film) 2003 - ...

I don't have the Ratatouille "What's Cooking?" album but I've checked it out on Amazon - it appears to be a kid-friendly album of songs about food (unrelated to the movie except for the food-centric connection). I take it some of the songs are new, but at least some of them - "Saturday Night Fish Fr...

Yesterday, I finally managed to find the soundtrack CD in a store! (I can't believe how hard it has been to find the darn thing, and the store that finally had it had only ONE copy!) Anyway, I already knew I loved the score from seeing the movie twice, but now I'm going to be even more disappointed ...

LOL, re the merchandise, clearly, I need to get out more. :) And going to the movie on the 4th wasn't bad, a good-sized crowd, but not as full as last Saturday. I went to a noon-hour show, though, which usually tends to be less crowded. (And, from what I could tell, everyone else in the ticket line ...

I went back to the movie on July 4. Enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time. Interestingly, sitting in front of me were 2 couples who were probably in their 60s; they seemed to really enjoy it. I know I should have more new notes than this, but 2 things that really cracked me up this time: After the fi...

I'm glad someone said this is a month later than anticipated. When I read October 23 (in USA Today), I thought "WHAT?!?" I was really thinking (hoping) September if not sooner. I'm glad it will have Stephen Anderson's commentary, though.

Back to the topic of WALL-E, I saw the teaser trailer before Ratatouille yesterday - not sure quite what to make of this, except that it was interesting to see such a completely different approach to the trailer. Andrew Stanton talking about the inception of the story, the sketches-come-to-life to r...

Oui, I am back. :) I know this is premature, and it all depends on what "important" movies come out this year, but... It certainly appears that "Ratatouille" will be one of the best-reviewed movies of the year. Is there any chance that it could get a real Best Picture Oscar nomination? I can't imagi...

Saw it today and loved it. It's so charming, and just left me feeling all warm and fuzzy. The theatre was nearly full at a noon matinee, all ages including more than a few adults without children, and the audience enjoyed it. Anton Ego was terrific, design, character arc, O'Toole's perfect voice - h...

About BHG's accent -I'm from the midwest US and never thought of him as having a British accent, but here's a quote from Stephen Anderson about it: ā€œIā€™m not sure where that voice comes from,ā€ Anderson admits. ā€œI think some of it comes from the anger and frustration I feel during morning commutes in ...

Plus, I love all the stuff with Goob (does he actually have the first lines of dialogue in the movie?) - I just remember the first time, being immediately won over by his voice as he's rambling on in this completely natural "little kid" way... I adore Goob's "conversation" with Lewis. Something abo...

Thanks, Jeroen - Playtime Planet sounds about right. And thanks, Daniel, for the welcome. Methinks I need to get myself to a Disney Store and get my Bowler Hat Guy Beanie. Ben, I hope you get to see the movie soon! :) I agree that it does build, and I've heard some comments that it starts slowly, bu...

Thanks for the welcome, Violet. :) Here's an odd question, but I'm sure someone with a better memory than mine will know the answer: What is the name of the pastel-pony-playtime-place restaurant? (You know what I'm talking about.) I've seen the movie twice, and I just can't remember. I love the movi...

Hi, all - I hope you don't mind a newbie popping in, but I love "Meet the Robinsons" and have enjoyed reading the discussion on it. Yes, the "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" bonus track on the soundtrack is the Sherman Brothers song written for the Carousel of Progress attraction at Disneyland and WDW...
