I saw that myself, and was giving it consideration if there are no drawbacks to playing it in Region A. (There's a nice-looking Metropolis set in the UK too.) The negative remarks are mostly about the films supposedly not being remastered, but it should be the same transfers that appear in the US se...

Does Harlan actually voice the character? Too cool!

I've heard Harlan's in weak health. Hopefully he's improving.

Re: The New DVD Thread

We have a PVR with our TV service, so i don't record to VHS anymore; but I still have a few dozen VHS tapes. At this point, it's largely Hanna-Barbera shows that haven't made it to DVD, some Jim Henson specials, and some of the typical collector's items bought years ago at comic book shows or traded...

One hates to say it, but two thoughts pop to mind:

Kids pressured their parents to see what they saw as the "cool" film.

OR

Most grown-ups that buy movie tickets aren't interested in classic Disney animation.

Either way, it's a little sad.

Mark Evanier mentioned it on his blog today, too, though he didn't mention his source. Here are his thoughts on it:

Just read your review, Ben--- Did I read it right that the WiP version is actually on the included DVD as well, playing full (wide)screen? And when watching the "original" version on the BD, the castle is messy again like it's supposed to be when watching the "original" version? Sounds like the set ...
