Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I believe Red Tails (and The Clone Wars movie) were both LucasFilm films distributed by Warners and, while Disney was able to wrangle the rights for Clones, Warners may have had a prior longterm deal for Tails, hence the bounce.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

If it’s the original 20th Century film, I fully recommend the first hour of Oklahoma! as a shining example of the big, wide R&H musicals of the late fifties and sixties: it’s fun, funny, beautiful to look at, and full of high energy musical numbers with great choreography and spirited performances! ...

Re: The Black Cauldron

No one really destroys anything, Bill! Even the original versions of Star Wars are all safe and sound in the Lucasfilm archives. Various storyreels and workprints will all be down there in the Disney vaults somewhere...not that we’re ever to likely see it. :(

Re: YouTube Goodness

Though not intended for a Yellow Sub type movie, my friend and I got really excited when that spot debuted, and did hope for some kind of project to come from it. Not only are the designs and animation jawdroppingly gorgeous, but the sound mix is terrific. This spot is most what I was reminded of wh...

Re: Pixar's Luca

So wanted the seagulls on the turn at 2:15 to say..."mine?" This looks lovely. It’s another shame that it’s being shunted to D+ for "free", though I can’t hide the fact that this will make it easier to see at the earliest opportunity. I’ll still pick up the disc, though, since it’ll beat the s...

Obviously it looks hideous because it’s not lit and rendered, but it at least confirms that this would have been a "photoreal" version of the film, making up the trilogy of "live-action" Beatles m...
