And just the delightful way the Blot exits the scene. If it wasn't so dark and morbid that could very well be Goofy saying so long or Porky letting loose a "That's all folks" type goodbye.

Just talking out of my hat, I'd say that's part of it. The up front cost, while no small thing to those involved, is a mere fraction of those of a (inter)national studio release and a venture with far less financial risk, not having to appeal to such a broad market or 'make it' in the first weekend....

I think this thread was mostly about feature-length projects anyway, as there's all manner of 'serious' short animation regardless of the nationality.

It's gone for now. Judging from these stats they sold out of a stock of 5999 at 11:50pm CST last night. Will this be back? Extremely doubtful. :( However, given the pricing of most items on the site it's a known issue that a lot of buyers (wooters) purchase purely for the eBay/Craigslist turn-around...
