I am so happy Save Disney is gone. I think SD's biggest problem is that they underestimated Michael Eisner. Going into march, they had all this support (& apperently bumper stickers), they felt they were unstoppable. The shareholder meeting came in with over a 40% no confidence vote in Eisner and R...

Re: Polar Express up to $100 million.. and still climbing!

The Polar Express is about to hit the $100 million mark and it is still climbing UP the box office chart! Two weeks ago it was number 5, last week number 4, this week number 3 - just barely missing being the number 2 film of the week! With three weeks until Christmas, I think The Polar Express' fut...

Well, Shrek 2 and The Incredibles are definites for the Animated Feature category, though I'll gladly eat my hat if one of them - most preferably the latter - somehow pulls off a Best Picture nom. With such a tepid response both critically and publicly, I really don't think The Polar Express has a c...

Bleah - all "reality" shows are scripted and hackneyed. And of course, as with anything that rots your brain, the public wants more. And the fact that sexually-soaked shows are the ones that do well shows you a sad, unhealthy, repressed side of the public that's painful to watch. We treat sex...

I can't help but think of the Chicago song "Razzle Dazzle" these days when I think of The Polar Express ... "Give 'em the old razzle dazzle - Razzle dazzle 'em! Give 'em an act with lots of flash in it And the reaction... will be passionate! Give 'em the old hocus pocus Bead and feather 'em How can ...

Yeah, and talk about that short that showed with FN! I mean, wtf? Pixar didn't even bother to make a new short?! st00pit Pixar! ;) I think you're being a bit too picky, Mac. The Pixar guys were busy enough as is, producing the film and all - so I don't think they'd exactly have time to produce a mor...

Except FA will be an Aardman stop-motion animation - not CG. And I think Aardman (distributed by DreamWorks) announced their project first, but I'm not sure... :|

It has competition, that's for sure. But time will tell as to which of those films are quality enough to keep drawing audiences. Here's hopin' (again) that Polar Express bombs - a creepy film like that doesn't deserve success.

Sad to say I would probably buy the DVD set if they released one... it was an interesting experiment, but as a lasting TV series? Nuh-uh.

Interesting article! Hope you don't mind that I posted it on the front page. :) This wasn't exactly unexpected, imo. I'm not surprised nor saddened that the series is failing, personally. The last line of the article says NBC hasn't decided what to do with the 6 remaining episodes... well, du...

I agree wholeheartedly Ed, but what about all the ADHD children with 2-second attention spans? I mean, cartoons are just for children, after all.

Geez... they would say something like that too, wouldn't they? >_<

Either that, or the marketing department "didn't handle it correctly."
