Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

That last point isn't crazy, either. I chuckled the other day reading an article claiming that BW was "one of Marvel's most anticipated releases." Really? By what standard?! Typical film industry hyperbole. It is more likely near the bottom of the list. I know that I am not all that excited for it, ...

Trust me...Woody is "better"! :(
Did you actually watch Woody?!? Or you're just assuming?

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Well, it's all pretty fascinating from a historical perspective. My own feeling is that no one has ever felt comfortable with predicting where things would go (reluctant to envision the worst and even most likely outcomes), and everyone's still somewhat flying by the seats of their pants. Let's face...

Re: Live action Tom and Jerry Movie

And I thought I couldn't have any lesser desire to see this.

Still, between this and the Woody Woodpecker film, I think I'd still be more tempted on T&J. I know, it's a random thought. I was just trying to think of something less appealing.

And, as mentioned in its own thread, Luca is going straight to D+, no premium access.

Re: Soul

I've never gotten one of the Disney/Pixar Target exclusives, but I might get the Soul one to try them out. I'm not crazy about the BB/Zavvi Steelbook, but feel like the film was special enough to grab something aside from the standard edition.

Sounds good enough for me! And when are the human stories ever any good in these anyway?

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

With vaccines getting distributed, I've begun to think about what I'll want to do once I feel more comfortable going out, though that could be a few months away. First up is a long browsing session at my favourite bookstore. It also has a great restaurant (with fantastic desserts) that my wife I lik...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

But the director says his intended ratio is 4:3. As he has full control now, I'd say I can go along with it, odd as it is by today's standards.

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

I'm waiting for the Blu-ray, which should be announced any day now. I did watch a trailer on my big screen last night, and while the 4:3 is certainly an unconventional choice, I didn't mind having a squarer image. More vertical space on a home screen doesn't have to mean "less epic" - it's all in th...

Him too. Surely you knew that I was referring to Artie Scorcece, right? The indie filmmaker from Nebraska?

No?

RT score is.... 78% after 120 reviews! https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/zack_snyders_justice_league Many of those reviews may be lukewarm, but a positive review is a positive review according to the Tomatometer. ;) Regardless, it's Snyder's best-reviewed film of his DC trilogy. By far. Well, good fo...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Variety was much more positive. Reviews are mixed, which is no surprise. Much will depend on how much one likes Snyder's vision of the DC heroes. I've decided that his versions are not mine, but I can still enjoy what he does to some extent. And at least we get to see the continuation (but not the e...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

I just watched The Bubble a few weeks ago, actually, and it did have good 3D, though the story would have been better as a half-hour Twilight Zone. I have all of the Kino/3D Film Archive releases, and am a big fan of their efforts. (God help me, I even bought The Stewardesses to keep my collection c...
