Re: Superman

Have you guys gotten any of the Atomic Age and Silver Age Sunday Pages Superman books? If so, how are they?

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

I managed to find several of these some time ago, many of them thru "half.com" which unfortunately is no longer a going concern … but you could also try eBay. I concentrated on novels that featured both Doctors and Companions that I liked, and have not been disappointed. Only caveat in your searchin...

Re: TVShowsonDVD no more?!?

If you haven't already liked "tvshowsondvd" on Facebook, I recommend … it's not the same as going to their site every day, which we all enjoyed, but the updates they've been sending on Facebook now are much nicer to read than all of the political crap out there.

Re: TVShowsonDVD no more?!?

Agree 100%. It was a daily stop for me as well … but at least they will be on Facebook. I can't help thinking that news item will be less frequent, however. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: 2017 Best Animated Feature

Seems to me like there's a whole lot of "meh" on this list. More so than most recent years, anyway. The one outstanding that I really WANT to see is "... Witch's Flower." Though I agree with the previous poster, probably "Ferdinand" will win.

Re: Why Sword in the Stone remains the definitive King Arthur movie

I enjoy the film, to be sure: it can be a challenge to find a truly "bad" Disney film. The Wizard Duel is the best thing about this movie; excellent animation, of course since it was done by well-seasoned pros, and beautiful backgrounds. The songs were below par, IMO, and the ending seems very clums...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

So what did the Who fans out there think of "The Pilot?" I thought it was a damn good episode, and I really like Bill. Looks like this is going to be an awesome season!

Just re-watched "Charlie X" one night last week ... how weird. I always wondered why she did so few episodes, yet ended up coming back for the movies.

Re: RIP Stan Freberg

It's worth noting that Freberg did only one Pete Puma cartoon, and just 3 or 4 "Three Bears" cartoons - and yet everyone remembers those cartoons!! Maximum impact with a minimal number of appearances. And still funny!!

Re: BATMAN to DVD?????!!!!!

Batman, I think, really is the coolest comic book character. You can do him light (like the '66 show), you can do him dark like the Dark Knight movies, you can do him anywhere in between, you can do him young like in "Year One" or you can do him old like in "Dark Knight Returns" and it all works!!

Hah. I can only imagine what will be said about the Beatles 500 years from now. Assuming we're still around.

Re: Disney on Turner Classic Movies

Hey guys, I just saw this online today: an article from the New York Times about this very thing. Looks like it's going to be a regular feature on TCM - how awesome is that??
