Re: Shrek reboot

Weirdly enough, in Shrek 2, Fiona's headbutt of Prince Charming which gets a big laugh was changed to a karate chop in the UK. I guess the headbutt was deemed too "violent", but it's definitely funnier. The UK censors seem to have an issue with headbutts in family films. There have been a lot of mo...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

That's my biggest gripe with what Disney is doing. They are picking and choosing which films require extra cost to access early on their streaming platform. I could understand their logic if all movies initially intended for cinema got the Access treatment, but they haven't and it's strange. Here in...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Was casually browsing through my Pay TV movie section and I see that, in Australia at least, the Justice is Gray edition has been released. Considering I haven't sat down to watch the coloured version yet I cannot tell you what the Gray (man it pains me to spell that with an A) edition offers. I'm s...

The weird thing is...I like Space Jam, but I hate Space Jam. :?
And you have successfully sold the movie to me. I'm gonna watch it during my current break from work. I survived Cats so surely I can survive anything else.

Re: Space Jam 2

Better not...might put you off! ;) It's almost become a running joke. Whenever a friend says they haven't seen Star Wars and I respond with shock, they will usually respond with 'Well you haven't seen Space Jam'. So many of my friends rave about the movie in terms of nostalgia. In my defence it was...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I have no memory of Battle For Endor even existing, so I might check that out. I don't remember anything about Caravan except I was excited to see the Ewoks again. Sees I was easy to please as a kid haha

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I'm kinda tempted to watch Caravan of Courage cause I loved the movie as a kid when it first came out and I was in major ewok obsession but I'm worried watching it as an adult will ruin the sweet childhood memories I have of the film

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon

And Showman was a natural phenomenon that occurred long after 20th had basically given up on it. The reason? Many people were late in discovering that it’s an awesomely entertaining modern musical with old-school charm. I feel The Greatest Showman is one of those rare musicals where people were men...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Justice Is Gray edition coming down the road. No real surprise... Look call me technologically dumb, but why would I need to buy the gray edition, if I can just adjust my TV to be 'black and white' And honestly the bits I've seen so far of the current edition when I've flipped through to the channe...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

The article as increased by anitpication of checking out the film (i've set to record the premiere in Australia in 90 minutes so I can watch at my leisure). But then the article says this: "Zack Snyder's Justice League" is so fragmented that it could've been titled "32 Short Films about the Justice ...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

When do we get to start to shout conspiracies that Warner and HBOMax paid the reviewers to be nice and positive? I feel it's only fair since Marvel is often accused of bribing people to say nice things while bagging out a DC movie to get a Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon

Please tell me they didn't decide to make her the Captain Marvel of the Disney Princesses, who goes around punching out Moana's grandmother... I don't believe they did. Raya is just your basic hero going on a hero's journey due to family trauma who makes a bunch of friends along the way. In ...

Re: Oscars Nods!

My initial response to the noms were just give the golden man to Glenn Close and Diane Warren (at this stage I'm all for people with lots of nominations and no win getting a career/enough is enough award), they've waited long enough. But I will need to sit down and start thinking like an Academy vot...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

The one thing I pick up from those positive reviews is that the 4 hour (or the original 2 movie idea) running time helps make the story better. So I still think it will be a bit unfair to compare the two (from a story point of view) when Whedon was instructed to keep the story under 2 hours (and wit...
