Re: Into the Woods
... combining all the characters and situations from various fairytales, mostly Grimm I believe. All are Grimm's except Jack and the Beanstalk which is British. Maybe this does give the Witch more reason towards the end, but I never really understood how her power was gone one moment, back the next...

Re: How Disney Restored Cinderella Very Wrongly (in 2005)
I just checked my BD and her hair streaks are still blue for that scene, in those very specific frames of that close-up, on mine. Bambi got a new restoration after it's first DVD release. And I think there were other things I read that indicated Disney is going to re-do restorations. Actually I beli...

Re: Cinderella - Disney Live-Action Feature
Oh. Well, when you said in the Bambi: Diamond Edition review: Following the huge success of Snow White, he released Pinocchio in little more than two years afterward, and the immensely personal Fantasia soon after. Both films offered darker, or too-“highbrow” accounts of what audiences expected, and...

Re: How Disney Restored Cinderella Very Wrongly (in 2005)
But Ben , haven't you even said Disney is re-doing their restorations? There is much hope for the future. That's why I want the word spread, if you can. OH WAIT! Did I forget to say? They used the SAME transfer for the Diamond Edition, so what I wrote here still applies to that one. What I am hoping...

Re: Cinderella - Disney Live-Action Feature
"Love is a Song" plays over the main title and in the end. I believe that if there exists something at Disney that officially says what the main theme is, it must be "Love is a Song".

How Disney Restored Cinderella Very Wrongly (in 2005)
Hello everyone. I have been putting this off for far too long, I should have made this thread a long time ago so the new Cinderella Diamond Edition release could fix these problems or actually restore the entire film over again the right way, but here it is, the hard proof that for the 2005 Platinum...

Re: Cinderella - Disney Live-Action Feature
Yep, it's me Dusty. Cinderella is my favorite story and I just gush about it and I think this site is a great place so I like to talk about it and other magic or Disney things here. I doubt much other magic, Disney, or animated things will have me talking more here, but it's nice to see you guys whe...

Re: Cinderella - Disney Live-Action Feature
It was described that aside from her rags Cinderella was "a thousand times handsomer" than her stepsisters in the original glass slipper version of the fairy tale, so the stepsisters being ugly is a logical thing for some versions to do, which includes the Disney animated 1950 version. I like how in...

Re: Into the Woods
Sondheim didn't defend the changes. The teachers said he and Lapine should have tried to stand up for work, and they said they did, but couldn't change their minds. This film was very good, but one thing is it's not the true Into the Woods because Rapunzel's fate is drastically changed from the orig...

Hello! Haven't been here in a while. Nice to see ya. I'm just dropping in to say that if some of you can say "it's just a title" and "Disney needs to market it with that title for it to be a hit", then it is only fair that I at least once say no, it is not just a title, it is a detail of the film as...

I think it looks great except I swear I've seen those same images before and they're just altered slightly. I'm glad they are doing a little short of their further adventures. It shows the happily ever after, it gives us a sequel, but doesn't make a full-length film that will ruin it and go so again...

Ya know, the missing kiss/spit curl was probably my biggest gripe! But also in general his hair probably needs to be a bit shorter, closer to the head, I dunno. And I still think he should be younger for the very first adventures of a super dude...but maybe he just looks too old since he's only 28, ...

I'm glad they aren't ditching the S...I didn't think they could even ditch something that iconic! What else would they have in it's place? The picture looks great, really quite fantastic! It's a really good indication of what is to come. Only now do I know who the guy looks like, and I think he look...

Oh, well Ben , I don't know where you said that quote. I just thought that you thought that many other Disney films were "true classics" just like Bambi, and I never thought Bambi would ever not be true classic! So you think only a longer pause would be necessary. You may be quite right, I know that...

Ben, you're the guy who said "for once, all the hype and praise given to Disney is right, Bambi is now a true classic"? I couldn't find that in the Diamond Edition review... But I was wondering why you said that. Don't you think a lot of Walt Disney's films, or even newer films like The Little Merma...
