Captain Carrot is something nutty that I can see James Gunn trying to cram into a future DC project. Just obscure and out there enough for him to jump on it as a series or something.

Re: Art Blog
Scott Shaw! (Zoo Crew co-creator) has been hoping for a Captain Carrot cartoon for ages, but it never happened, perhaps because of his royalties deal on the characters. However, when a CC action figure came out a few years ago, DC and McFarlane Toys "forgot" to pay him any royalties. The fact that they gave his character a whole different look made him less happy, too.
But a traditional CC/Zoo Crew cartoon would be awesome.

I'd definitely love to see a Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew! animated project, someday. I'd even love to work on one (although it seems that I often can't objectively 'enjoy' anything I've actually worked on).
It was a blast to draw those characters, last month.
I, too, was disappointed with the McFarlane Toys 'Captain Carrot' action figure. Maybe I should create a CG sculpt that's a better likeness for Scott Shaw!'s character design.
The Zoo Crew did get featured in a Robot Chicken sketch, some years back.

I love what I have seen of Robot Chicken…but have seen so woefully little of it!

Re: Art Blog
For the past week, I've been participating in LooneyUne .. an Inktober-style challenge featuring daily prompts for a Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies-themed drawing on each day of June, run by Dave Alvarez (a longtime contributor to various LT/MM animated & comics projects, and also an accomplished webcomics artist in his own right).
My seventh drawing -- posted yesterday on my Instagram -- was also my 100th post there; a milestone that took me 2½ years to reach!
My LooneyUne drawings are also (mostly!**) in color .. thanks to a nice large set of Copic markers which I got for my birthday, last month.
** I'll still be using my grey Copic markers for drawings based on black&white LT/MM cartoons.
