Re: Disney Movie Club/Rewards

Post by EricJ » February 24th, 2010, 1:53 am

Another note worth noting--

Recently resurfacing on Rewards, among other expired/club DVD's:
Disney Treasures "Your Host, Walt Disney" set, 800 points (1 per customer)
http://tinyurl.com/rwrdstin

(Expired DT tins, normally going for upwards of $50 on Amazon/Ebay?...I likey, redeemed my points.
And yes, I know, "most of the stuff was on the other disks", and it's the only one on the catalog so far because it probably wasn't the biggest selling, but hey, I only own one other tin.
Besides, had a feeling this was a vault-cleanup that was going to drop off the catalog early...I'll find out later if they still have one in stock to ship.)

A recent email has a scavenger hunt, here are the five answers which add up to 100 points combined: popular, partners, wildflower, online, green. Remember to enter one at a time.

Oh yeah, and they updated the look of the site a few days ago. It's faster, but it's pretty bad. A little difficult to find things. Too white, I liked the old color scheme more. Doesn't even seem to have freebie stuff (like Wallpaper) anymore either. :(

Ghastly is right. And 1997. Or maybe 2003, at a push.

Thanks for the hints, Dan! :)

No points today, ( ;) ) however six new rewards have been added:

"Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin CD" - 700 Points
Disney's "The Miracle Worker" DVD - 750 Points
"The Adventures Of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina" DVD - 800 Points
"Walt Disney's Funny Factory with Huey, Dewey & Louie" DVD - 750 Points
"Monkeys, Go Home!" DVD - 750 Points
"Lilo & Stitch" Pillow and Color-Changing Alarm Clock Set - 1350 Points

ZOMG a Stitch item! It feels like an eternity since they've had anything of him! Real nifty, looks cute not to mention unique. One of my issues is that it's very similar to one I've had my eye on from Japan. (Pics - zoom-able). Only difference is appearance. The DMR version is colored in, which is great, (plus it has Lilo!) while the other version is 'naked' but makes up for it by sporting an adorable 3D Stitch figure on the top! DMR version also comes with a pillow, which quite frankly is pretty bland... (wish it actually had Stitch on it) Tough call. My main complaint for both is that they are battery operated. Would be so much more convenient if they had a plug-in adapter. Because of that, it's more of a novelty toy than something I could rely on from day to day. -- Longevity, doubt the batteries would last very long.

Decisions, decisions... ;)

Nice! The DVDs are really what I save for, and there's a couple still there that I'd like to add.

My advice is to STAY AWAY from the DIRE Tom Thumb & Thumbelina, which is actually a Miramax pick-up, and an awful film to begin with. Best of that new bunch is Monkeys, Go Home!, though it's not the best of the Disney Dean Jones comedies even if it's a sweet little film.

Still waiting for some of those DMC exclusives to make their way over, especially The Incredible Journey.

Dan - I prefer the Japanese one. The Stitch figure is cute, and I actually like the "naked" look better. But that's just me.

I kind of prefer it too, since it looks like a "sketch". And the figure is spot-on, they captured him perfectly and I like his pose. Yeah, think I'll just get the Japanese one and save my points for something else. Thanks, always good to get a second opinion. Hopefully they add more Stitchie stuff down the road.
