Apparently, WDCC (Walt Disney Classics Collection) is doing a statue line based on Mickey's Christmas Carol.

Here are pics of the prototype sculpts from http://maskedavengerstudios.blogspot.com/

The Jiminy Cricket pictured is actually a special limited "whiteware" edition of the regular painted statue. Only 150 whiteware Jiminy's will be produced.

I'm going for the color version if I get this statue at all... Would look nice paired with the Pinocchio I got a month or two ago.

These pictures are from Ruben Procopio's blog. They're all projects of his produced for various companies (WDCC, Grand Jester, Electric Tiki).

I love Maquettes but can't see myself ever getting obsessive about collecting them, I just like to look.

Heh.

$71 gets you a costume that will surely win worst store-bought outfit at the next Comic-Con!

(At least it has a built-in fan to keep you cool, though...)

I can't believe this costume is sold out...

Not to leave Disney or Mickey in particular feeling left out...

... Sega's USB-powered Mickey Mouse heater!

For those cold frigid days in Tokyo when your fingers need warming at your laptop's keyboard...

Does kind of look like Mickey...

After he's been squashed by a piano from 5 stories up!

Disney and yet-not-Disney... =>

http://www.electrictiki.com/original%20 ... _girl.html

The Moore Girl.

No, not a Bond Girl!

Very, very interestink!

The prototype sculpt looks very good. The essence of the pose has been captured. For obvious reasons, the picture ain't getting posted here even though it's no worse than most of Michelangelo's work!

Owners of the Illusion of Life might recognize the image from the book... or at least something like it from photos in the book.

Just as nice, or perhaps even better, is a Malificent bust designed and sculpted to Ruben Procopio... I've seen a photo of the master paint sculpt and Ruben has more photos of the finished product/the master paint on his blog at http://maskedavengerstudios.blogspot.com/

It's already up for pre-order on a number of sites. It's definitely a DCBS order for me!

Might be the first Disney villain I get in statue form! It's a great design of a real witch! ( <= I can say that... It's nicer than the other word I was thinking of  )

Lovely! I've always been fond of Freddie Moore's girl drawings, and Kent Melton's girl sculpts. Nice to see the twain meet. :)

---------------

Though, actually -- come to think of it -- it's not the first time they'd converged:

Droo,

Electric Tiki is also doing a new line of girls...

http://www.electrictiki.com/animate-lad ... adies.html

The introductory maqs are going to be Minnie, Tinkerbelle, and Prince Daphne (from Dragon's Lair)!

The designs look great as usual!

In other news, I had to cancel some pre-orders I had on two things because of a) lack of funds (bad economy) and b) lack of enthusiasm for the statues.

My ultra-pickiness picked up another notch!

I will keep an eye out for the Daphne statue. She's one of Bluth's sexier characters!

P.S. -- More posts this morning... Darn snow is screwing up my week! Might be doing more lab hours and work in the afternoon depending on road conditions, though.

I really, really hate snow delays and closures!
