Re: YouTube Goodness
I preferred the second movie over the first growing up because the evil book absolutely terrified me and I would usually stop watching the film once she showed up.

Re: YouTube Goodness
But she’s the best thing about it!
The second film was just an extended television episode, and very episodic at that, but the third ("Just call me Stan!") had some fun designs and things in it, though was a bit all over the place. I love Disney's Alice In Wonderland despite the flaws, but when people point out those flaws and what they don’t like about it, I’m kind of reminded of the Care Bears version and how nuts that one gets!
The evil book would be right at home as a villain in a Disney picture, which is why I probably like it, as it elevates the first film to something more than we were getting elsewhere at the time, with a concept, vocal and animation that’s "better" than something like a Care Bears movie might "deserve", if you get me. The fact she scared you as a kid means they succeed!

The actual DreamWorks SKG press conference from October 1994. (No name yet.)

“Once you enter, you may never make it out alive…”
Good tagline for these AI things!

Fixed your YT links for ya, Vi!
Oh my, these things are getting betterer and betterer all the time!
The wormhole I fell down after brought up this: some really strange stuff in here, but hysterically so, made me burst out giggling at least three times,.

Re: YouTube Goodness
As much as I enjoyed it back in the day, I always found this a fairly weird show, and something "off" about it compared to the other WB specials of the time. Even as a kid one could tell the difference between the classic toons and these "new" ones, and Freleng's 70s design Daffy feet never felt quite right, plus it reuses a lot of ideas and gags from the older toons, if not the footage. On the other hand, it was quite cool to see an almost half hour of new Looney Tunes animation instead of a compilation show, so there was that, too. Yeah, a weird one, though it must have worked back then as I still do remember most of this so well!

Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue! aired on this day 35 years ago (one day after 420 day, ironically). For those who don't know, George C. Scott voiced the embodiment of "drugs," while the song was written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
We will never get something this bonkers ever again.

Re: YouTube Goodness
Now that is just BIZARRE—I watched a couple of clips from this only the other day Dacey! Lol. (The opening in the Smurf village.)
I loved this as a kid and in many ways still do. It may be a bit on the preachy side I guess, but after all it WAS aimed at kids.
Nothing beats watching Alf argue with Garfield! Hahaha.
