;)

Yeah, I probably will invite some friends over when it comes out.

May 22? That means about a months wait, cool! Although, it being unrated, kinda has me worried. Hope its not to..... you know. :?

Oh, and Owens review was very good! :)

For some reason, I clicked through to see and ended up watching the clips. Some funny stuff there.

I saw Epic Movie too yesterday and somewhat mixed feelings shall we say :-) Perhaps it's better if you watch the movie when you are allready a bit drunk lol.
Maybe a few very mild spoilers ahead, don't really know what you call spoilers here yet but just to be sure...
I agree somewhat with the previous posters on this:
Some really funny stuff (laughed a lot with the Harry Potter parody) but also a loooooooot of stupid farting and puking and so on and so on ... and so on  ;-). Far(t) too much of those kind of jokes for my taste. You see, my humour is already getting more stupid because of this Epic Movie lol.

Yeah, mixed feelings....that about sums it up for me and Epic Movie.

And I totally agree with you on the puking/flatulence stuff they had going. :?
HATED that.

But one thing that must be said:

Darrell Hammond (the Jack Sparrow knock-off) was PURE BRILLIANCE. :)

Lionsgate is becoming the new byword for bad animated films.

Can't anyone making this see that it's doomed? There's no cast on board, and even the "director" isn't named.

Oops - sorry, yes the cast is named. And they're getting official endoresment from several product manufacturers hoping for another Toy Story?

Can you say "product placement"?

Ouch! :)

Wasn't this supposed to come out last year? Hasn't it been in production for like five or six years?? :?

Fox had something like this for ages, years ago. I think it even had some big names attached to it.

Knowing a bad idea when they see one, they let it go. I don't think this film is related at all, just the same idea repackaged.

First two actual Beowulf stills:

I hope some movie clips will be shown online during comic-con; I'm curious how this technique has improved since Polar Express zombieness and how convincing muscle simulation will be... :)

And the answer is...not improved. Look at the old man's eyes...there's still nothing there.

In the other pic, the arms and torso just don't look real, which is, I'm guessing, the intention.

Ugh... :(

Yep.. You seem to be right, but I wouldn't prejudge it so easily. Let's wait and see them moving/acting. Maybe we're simply biassed because of things we've already seen done with this performace capture thing ?... I think that this movie wasn't supposed to look photoreal, but more like realistic painting/illustration. If only they'll succeed in achieving belivable facial/eye motion and body deformations those little inaccuracies and imperfections wouldn't be so distracting. At least it works like this in case of keyframe animated characters with very stylized look like The Incredibles or Ratatouille (see links below) and might work different entering "uncanny valley" ;)

(in some shots characters hands/fingers arrangement look quite off on stills, not very natural, but in motion we usually do not notice such things)
