The Amiga 1200 was a very cool machine.
Oh yes, I made very good use of the Amiga's genlock capability .. I was creating freelance animation for a local car dealership, featuring a cartoon 'car' character who drove around live-action footage of their sales lot -- I simply 'keyed' my DeluxePaint ANIMs over their footage, and output it direct to S-VHS ..

And this was in 1993 .. when doing this on a Mac -- let alone a PC -- required hundreds of dollars' worth of high-end video equipment. Yet, with the Amiga, it was built-in! 8)

Sorry, couldn't resist this, about Eisner taking computer classes and proclaiming that "this computer thing is going to be big"...

Yes, Mr Eisner had a creative vision... ;)

"Why just buy a video game from Atari or Intellivision?..." - Gee, on-air rival name bashing. Don't get that nowadays!!

"Unlike games it has a REAL computer keyboard..." - Wow, it must be super neato, then, Shatner!

"Under $300, the wonder computer of the 1980s..." - Looks like we were gipped even back then!

Very true, but what about those PC/Mac commericals? Well, it's true they never say "Microsoft" or "Apple", but we know what they mean.....

Yeah, I guess that was like $800 or $900 back then....(??) and way more in British pounds.

Actually, less. Pounds are roughly half-to-two-thirds US numbers. But it was still a LOT for back then (especially considering what it could do compared to now).

But it was like "wow" back then! ;)

HHere's some more computer trivia I found out: (well, video games)

1.) Mario first appeared in "DonkeyKong." His name wasn't Mario then, but Jumpman.

2.) Pac-Man was actually supposed to resemble a Pizza Pie.

3.) The original Super Mario Bros. was just a "sample" game that came with the first Nintendo Entertainment System. It later grew into a mass phenomenom.

And this one (I could have this wrong, so if so I apologize)

4.) The "minus" zone in Super Mario was actually a programming error not noticed until after the product was on the market.

Actually it's called the "minus world." It has something to do with being able to skip levels through World 1-2 by going into one of the pipes....kinda complex so:

Oh, you won't believe this one: :P (plus I think Burgess Meredith, the 60's Batman Penguin, is the narrator! :) )
