2D will be "revived" as an "old age" artform somewhere down the line.

Did I write that 23 pages ago? Wow, good memory Dan!

And, jordan, wow, verbatim! I'd like to think "great minds"...

The animation 2d still lives, but in television, the majority of the cartoons for kids are 2d.

What Do You Prefer More-CGI Or Hand Drawn Animation?

Post by Once Upon A Dream » February 12th, 2008, 10:36 am

So what do you,personally,prefer-the new CGI or the hand drawn animation?.
I prefer both, thought,it seems that CGI seems to getting too much attention,i love the new movies but still.

Both mediums are capable of telling amazing stories. It doesn't matter to me.

I prefer hand drawn animation a little bit more. It's what I grew up watching, so naturally there's that fondness CGI, at least for me, doesn't have.

Don't we already have a discussion for this? And do we need another poll OUAD. Do you have an obsession!?

For the record, I really liked where things were going with the "tradigital" films like Tarzan, Treasure Planet and Titan AE. There was a really nice melding of hand animated personalities and CG characters and backgrounds that was just technically mind-blowing.

CG seems to have zapped some of the "fun" and "warmth" out of animation, except when it's done really, really, really well. I still only think there are maybe only a handful of truly great CG films out there.

:)

Sorry,i meant for it to be a discussion, not a poll .
The thread about 2-D was about if she'll die, this thread is about what you personally prefer :D.

Okie dokie...deleted the poll and merged the threads...since it's a continuance of the previous discussion.

The two would ultimately end up in the same place, so may as well merge now. :)
