Cool profile of JK and DWA's investment in China:

Careful clicking on that link...it started to try and download something onto my pad from China, so I stopped before the article ran.

Good to hear things are looking better for them, though I'm not excited about their upcoming films right now.

I will be when Me And My Shadow, or whatever it turns out to be, gets a bit more traction going! :)

Of the major studios, Disney looks like it has the most intriguing slate. Besides the obvious exception of The Incredibles 2 (and maybe Coco), I'm not too thrilled about Pixar's upcoming films either.

Disney has an insane slate this year and next, plus more in the pipeline. I'm not sure how many will be classics, but there's no denying the ambition.

Having attended D23 and all, I know just how insane Disney's slate is.

Gotcha.

Somewhat related...did the D23 website just slip up and confirm Keira Knightley for Pirates 5? Unless they have thier facts wrong, in a piece about scrubbing up well it says...
When we meet Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean, she’s about as refined and as ladylike as a governor’s daughter is expected to be—but Elizabeth proves immediately that she’s prone to the unexpected. Her final appearance in the Pirates series—Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is in super-secret production now for release in 2017—has the proper English girl fully transformed into full pirate regalia.

It's probably how they constructed the wording of the sentence that implies the idea. I think what they were trying to say was that her last appearance in Pirates, which by the way has their latest entry in production, saw her transform from governess daughter to pirate. *shrugs*

Y'know, I read, re-read and re-re-read that description several times to try and work it out and never made sense of it that way. Yeah, I think you're right. Pretty odd construction, though, when they could have just added the new movie was in production at the end of the blurb (especially since Will is back in the next one). Well done.

What's more, Orlando has been hinting that Will is going to have more than a cameo with his story focused on his relationship with his son. Hmmm...

Now to sort of get this thread back on topic, DWA will be launching a television channel in Singapore next week, as posted on the front.
