Just got back from the theatres. Didn't think it was that bad. Not the best movie in the world but the family liked it and enjoyed watching it. Nice to see bugs bunny in theatres again.
And especially resembling Bugs, unlike the original Jam, that Joe Dante thing, or even those now-airing made-for-HBOMax monstrosities.

(And speaking of which: Yyyeah--Remember that "Oh, look, it's Bugs and Elmer, and it looks like the 40's cartoon!" a while back? Turns out even that was a snide Millennial cultural-hostility dig at "old" cartoons, and the new ones in the streaming series are shock-gagged cable freaks that seem to be more than a little taking their cues from John K. and his idea that the "Only good Looneys" were the spastic Bob Clampett toons.
If you've wondered why the "fat" Bugs that imitates fat Elmer in "Wabbit Twouble" has now become a wildly out-of-context Internet icon, that, friends, is only the tip of the iceberg.)

...Good thing the classics are on Blu now; Bugs just can't catch a break. :?
To me the game was the best part. People saying it all hbo max ads full of the other movies? Huh? The cameos are just background filler like we thought. They are just watching the game.
Yeah, that's what I saw , albeit from some YouTube reactors jumping on the cable airing--It's not subtle, but even if we have King Kong (Universal doesn't own the RKO version) high-fiving the Iron Giant in a don't-blink crowd scene, at least it's not the Ready Player Two that we thought brand-obsessed Warner was making.
Particularly as they seem to have lost interest in making anything else anymore.

Right. That short where Bugs Bunny steals some organs from containers and soon after shoves them down the throat of a huge mummy trying to kill him was graphic enough. Most violence in Looney Tunes is cartoonish, bloodless, and with no gore. Not that, definitely not that!

Cartoon Network just got through airing season 1. Definite mixed bag. Some were pretty good, with little nods, but the rest were forgettable. Not as memorable as the classics.

Well… At least it’s better than Tom And Jerry…?

But it’s not as "good" as the first, and the "cameos" are wasted: you’ve honestly seen them all in the trailers already and the same few are used in the majority of the backgrounds, looking like wannabe cosplay lookalike versions rather than the "real" characters. Honestly, they couldn’t get one or two big names to pull off a surprise reprise? Use old footage? Or deepfakes? And the vocalists were clearly having an off-day too: Bergman's Bugs doesn’t sound like him at all, being like a "younger" version of the wabbit, and how many times can one shove "doc' into the script, eh doc?

This was never going to be a classic, and it’s quite shoddily put together in parts — some of the animation looks cheap, some VFX are *bad* — but it’s entertaining enough in fits and spurts, and Incredibly more coherent than Wonder Woman 1984 in terms of a big spectacle film, though just what is it with Warners making such weird movies right now!? Even The Witches — the most enjoyable thing WB has released recently — was a fairly odd movie, but they really seem to be on some bizarre and bonkers kick at the moment!

Tempted as I may be, I'm sure that's loaded with spoilers, right? ;)

Seriously…you think Space Jam 2 *has* any spoilers? There's nothing in there that you haven’t seen in the trailers. Actually, there's nothing in the entire *movie* that you haven’t seen in the trailers…!

Well, there were a few things shown I didn't know about, but nothing really crucial.

Having recently come across HBOMax's "Jellystone" cartoon, I think we can cover it all with a general "WARNER hates itself":

Ever since the Cartoon Network Wars, Warner seems genuinely afraid to stick to any of their house-franchise guns, no matter how desperately they need to sneaker-sell the names, and can't market any of them without the urge to sink into camp, self-aware deconstruction, or desperate crossover tie-in marketing.
That's probably why we've had such a string of their long pandemic-awaited big-guns titles--WW84, Tom & Jerry, Space Jam 2--being so nutty lately. As one critic put it, the good thing about "The Suicide Squad" is that it's supposed to be that bonkers.
