Surely, The Man Called Flintstone has been discussed then. I wonder if George F would restore Wilma's Columbia Lady intro?

In the latest podcast George said he's hoping they'll do Man Called someday.

I think the question is "I wonder if George F COULD restore Wilma's Columbia Lady intro?" I know George would always want to see films in original form, but it might just be studio politicks that prevent this from happening, though there’s always done kind of arrangement that can be made, I’m sure. It’s only if WAC and Sony can be bothered or afford to come to it…

Old Man And The Sea! At last! :)

May get Dangerous, but it’s not one of Esther's best and would only be for the T&J sequence that I have a few times elsewhere, so probably not but I’m willing to be swayed by awesome reviews. ;)

I am in for most Esthers, and have been waiting on Dangerous When Wet. Pharaohs is another must. Pretty good lineup for June, but I can pass on the others.

Surprised you’re not going for Old Man!

Booooooooring!

Sorry, just not my thing. Read the book in high school, then I think we watched the film. Of course, I might appreciate it more now, but I'm not buying the disc to find out.

Even Papa Hemingway hated the "f'ing rubber fish" movie, but given his personality, that's hardly surprising.

But…but it’s Spencer! ;)

Still, I suppose at least you’ve seen it. I haven’t in a long time but just remember a lazy afternoon one day and just enjoying letting the slow nature of the story just wash over me, no pun intended. I recall it being quite a mixed feeling film, from the warm but still disconnected narration to the back-projected, obvious studio shot scenes, but my very young self was sad for the Man by the end. For some reason I always remember it in black and white, maybe because I’m mixing it up with Captains Courageous, which is a better film though not a great one either. I’d like to see Old Man again sometime though, just to give it another go. It’s been a long while! :)

I remember it being very talky, but it's a nice simple story.

That’s lovely! I was going to day one this, but realised I need to save a couple of WA titles for the next sale! Good news though!

New titles announcement:

Hoo boy, another great batch of older films. Fans of post-1960 films are disappointed, and I get that, but this is a pretty solid lineup, even if no animation is in there this month.

I'm not a westerns guy, so there are some here I can skip. But Broadway Melody, despite its poor reputation (though it's an Oscar winner) is certainly a landmark film in musicals history and I'm glad to see it hit Blu. Du Barry was a Lady and Helen of Troy also seems like likely pick-ups for me.
