Re: Happy 30th Goofy movie
Disney is really pushing the anniversary hard. In addition to all the social media stuff, D23 this fall is getting “premiere” showing of the film, and it’s being included in a concert along with the heavy hitters from the 80s and 90s.

As it should be!
For my money, if there’s one "DisneyToon" feature — using that term as a catch all for the many satellite studios that made stuff for DTVs and TV movies — that deserves to be counted as a quasi-legit WDP/WDFA/WDAS entry, it’s A Goofy Movie. Legacy character, check. WDFA Director, check. Feature-level animation, check, etc…
The same can’t be said for the very video-y sequel, but the only other one that reaches the same level would be The Tigger Movie, which is leagues above the other Pooh DTVs and, I would argue, is truer, more original and coherent than the official Pooh feature sequel (which I still lament wasn’t named The Further Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh as originally proposed before Disney, bizarrely, didn’t want it to be confused as a sequel or as a DTV. So, yeah, they just named it with the character's name, or was that all part of the intentionally lackluster marketing that buried it under Potter so that hand-drawn would just go away…?).
Anyway…yay for A Goofy Movie!

Reminds me of the idiotic "John Carter" naming instead of "A Princess of Mars." Because "John Carter" sounds better to teenage boys than a beautiful girl and space fantasy.
Those Disney marketing geniuses!!
I know. I'm repeating myself. I'm still bitter.

They were, and still are, allergic to anything with Mars in the title!
I get that they wanted to build a franchise around John Carter, hence the name, but hey could have gone with Princess Of Mars and then John Carter: The Second One for a follow-up, just like they did with Indy. And *that* still bugs me, that in marketing they changed Raiders Of The Lost Ark to Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark. HE was a raider too! In fact the trailer implicitly states, after listing the main characters, that "they are all…Raiders Of The Lost Ark"!
They could have at least gone with John Carter And The Princess Of Mars or something. Still anemic, but covering the basis. The boring block capital font for "John Carter" didn’t help either, hinting at nothing about what the film was. Sounds like a doctor or a lawyer!
