I reckon we'll get a few more posters before March 14, Meg. Lots of time for variants. They'll be wanting to get character impressions into our brains first, especially with the eye candy on show in the trailers.

Dead time to release it, though I guess Ice Age 2 did well thereabouts.

Is that Scrat on the Ice Age logo? Way to confuse things there, Blue Sky, unless they do in fact attach a new Scrat short, which would be pretty fun.

Yup. I doubt it, but that would be pretty fun. I love his little shorts! :)

Thanks for posting the still. I think they look pretty good, but stills from 3d movies don't always look as impressive. *waves little flag for blue sky*

TAG Blog wrote:Horton is a very interesting and different project. Besides the story, the whole look has a unique palette of its own. Each and every inch of the movie was designed quite diligently to achieve the exact feel of the original art of Dr. Seuss without having to compromise within the technical boundaries ...
It shows. :)

And I love the pic on that page: (likewise the ones wendy posted)

I've loved everything I've seen, production wise, on this film, since we started seeing things!

Blue Sky haven't always made the best pictures, but they're up there with Pixar, Disney and DreamWorks as being able to pull off the various "looks".

In fact, I'm wondering if they aren't Pixar's closest competition.

I would have to say yes - visually speaking anyway. DreamWork's stuff is nice but I would like to see them push it a little more.

Sony did some lovely work on Surf's Up as well...

Very true, but I'm waiting to be truly wowed by a Sony film.

Shrek 2 did it for me with DreamWorks, and though I didn't like the story and characters, it was Robots for Blue Sky, who I know can do characters thanks to the Ice Ages.

I'm looking forward to this one to see if finally someone can do a perfect modern take on Seuss, because so far, no-one (Grinch, Cat) has... :(

This movie looks very good visually, the painterly effect is better than in the Bolt image.

On the newer trailer...

Does anyone else get the feeling that Carrey might've been miscast?

Actually, Carrey didn't bother me as much as Carrel, despite the fact that I prefer the latter actor.

Still, I agree that someone more fitting should have been cast.

I was actually quite pleased at how UN-Carrey like Jim comes over. Going the obvious route, someone with a heavier comedy voice might have sounded better, but I'm willing to say no, he's not mis-cast...at least on the strength of this.
