It was Blur Studios - they did the short Gopher Broke as well, which has a similar style.

Oh! BTW, I thought of something yesterday. When Moe goes: "The Simpsons Movie: In 2d!" that's the first time I've ever heard that phrase (2d) used outside of animation fans/animator circles and in a mass media outlet.
Most people are so ignorant about animation, will they even understand what "2d" is? I guess....

Hopefully this trailer, and this film, will make people say: "Hey, I like that old style! Why can't we have more movies like that??"





I wonder what Matt Greoning thinks of the whole 2d/3d issue?

Do you think it's possible that there were executives who wanted them to make this in CGI?

(I shudder to think of it, but I wouldn't bet against it either....)

Someone had some free time, I see.

- Yeah, the emotional episodes, were always my favorites. Lisa sub? (Dejavu)

- I'm good at finding characters, so yay for me!

- I very much doubt that. Simpsons have always been 2d (save THOH) so that would've been shocking. Not to mention, a HUGE risk.

- Yeah, Chalmers is always funny. He's had a few great moments from the most recent seasons. Though, you wouldn't know that, now would you? (Catch the new stuff, Vi! )

- Funny story, I actually collected those toys! though, I got tired of them and stopped. I have the Simp family, Krusty, and Barney.

Just wanted to say that there is a Simpsons Movie unfinished work-in-progress scene on the Simpsons Season 9 DVD. (Animatic)
Mild spoilers

*The Simpsons apparently had some exchange with G-d (??) as Marge tells Homer "G-d spoke to us for a reason."
* They Simpsons have some kind of pet pig and Homer fills a farm silo with his manure.
*Marge begs him to dispose of the waste properly.
* He disposes is of it, but in a place with a million signs that say: "Please don't!" and "Have you no heart?" and "We're begging you!" and finally "You Bastard!" Homer drives through all of them, knocking them down.

Right before the preview you hear Homer say: "Don't tell Fox, but we have an unfinished scene here, so I don't want anyone askiing any stupid questions like 'Where's the color?' " Then when the Movie logo turns to pencil he cries out: "OMG! Where's the color!"

That's the gist of it.

Just a heads up, there's suppose to be a new trailer/teaser airing this week, with the new episode of The Simpsons. (2/18 )

However, I assume its the same trailer that debuted on American Idol this week. But for those who didn't see, here it is!
