Too late: as I said in my KFP review, their next, Monsters Vs. Aliens, is already a return to commercial sensibilities. While not as crass and noisy as Shark Tale, MVA is certainly a step back in that direction as opposed to yet again raising their own bar. I'm disappointed, but learning to accept MVA as the fun laughfest it is no doubt intended as. I'm just hoping there are not enough elements in it to tip it back over into being one of the lesser DWs animated films. The new trailer is helping though.

wait a sec, didn't we have a what-if adventure in Shrek 2? :? ..

so rumpel from Happily N'ever after dumped Vanguard after those movies and signed with Dreamworks huh?.. wonder when Disney'll do a story on him..

and shouldn't Rumpy be the villian who steals one of Shrek's Babies.. like in Rumpy did in the orignal story..?

meh, I'm more intereseted in the Puss in Boots movie than this.. but oh well..

I guess Shrek couldn't be king.. because then the franchise would have called The Ogre/Ogress King/queen :p..

speaking of the princess.. I didn't realize tha Snow White had a makeover from the end of the first movie.. she looked more manly then .. at least in the third movie .. Cindy doesn't look like Belle.. :p

Not sure if it was posted but the plot line:
Shrek has become a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. Longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre," Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumplestiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all he's done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love
Sounds like Cinderella III,but acorrding to the cast Sleeping Beauty is back :D yay! :D.

The plot does seem too similar to Cindy 3

Yeah, but starlioness-Why do you think that Shrek The Third is similar to Cindy III? Happily N'ever After is just a Cinderella III and Shrek rip-off.

well, it had the bad guys revenge plot going.. Stepmother messes with Cindy's life in an alternate reality, Shrek 3 has P.Charming and other Fairy Tale Villlans taking over Far Far Away Land.. :?

didn't the releases go like this:

Happily (Jan 2007)
Cindy III (Feb 2007??)
Shrek 3 (May 2007)..

that's awfully darn close..

Almost every sequel or movie has villains who plots to get revenge at the heroes, that's not similar to Cinderella III.

It gets even more complicated when you note - as I did in my reviews for both Happily and Shrek 3 - that John H Williams served as producer on both, with production on each running at the same time...
