Maybe puss in boots was castrated for domestic use, hence the exrta weight ;-)

Don't you also think arthur and prince charming look a lot like each other, especially if you see these posters next to each other?

Yeah, TOO MUCH alike. That's the Dreamworks design originality I guess...

Well, if they turn out to be related or something, it would make sense...

Y'know, if this thing fails it certainly won't be for insufficient advertising, like Meet the Robinsons or TMNT... Shrek the Third is everywhere I go! Props to their marketing department, at least. :P

They are pretty desperate. Without Shrek outgunning all other animation, DWs loses their powerhouse franchise and would be ripe for dismantling or selling off.

In an interview JK said they came very close to starting an OTH sequel but decided not to.

Kinda sad 'cause out of all the DW films (including Shrek) I really think OTH is one of the few that actually could benefit from a sequel. There's still lots more places they can go, IMHO.

With Shrek....really hard for me to say this, 'cause I love DW and I still do love Shrek. But I really think they should have stopped at 2...or even 1 for that matter. They said everything they needed to say about beauty in the eye of the beholder and whatnot. That was the theme. Other than that, all you have left is the fairy tale spoof.

Not that I won't enjoy Shrek 3 and all....'course I'll see it, at least once. (saw Shrek 2 twice in 2004 , with different friends)

It was a mistake to make Shrek the DW mascot. Shrek is lovable 'cause he's anything BUT a tool! This is just such a huge contradiction of that whole "Leave me alone in my swamp" guy we saw in part 1.

I still love Shrek, love DW, but enough already.

The thing I find odd about Shrek becoming a figurehead is that he's not even DreamWorks' creation.

They really need to find a character that works as the true "face" of DWs, but Shrek ain't it. It would have been great if First Flight had been an earlier short...they could have used the little blue bird from that as an extremely cute little logo character, perched on the end of their regular lettering. They could still do it, actually, and put a warm face to what is essentially pretty hard block lettering.

I think Shrek 2 is valid...it continued the story to a certain degree that added and tied up the characters' true feelings and put closure on the story arc. Shrek 3 now feels like a sequel, being made purely for the money, and as I said with Spidey, dragging it out to anything past this will no doubt be creatively bankrupt. But then, if Shrek 3 don't sell, we won't get a fourth, because that's the way it works...

Hammy would be better IMHO. Even though he's part of the comic strip OTH....still, I think he would be cute.
