ABL does often get forgotten (after all, it's well over a decade old already), but in fairness it wasn't Atta's story. Brave squarely focuses on the princess.

Well, that, and the fact that it came between the "They'll never make another one!" Toy Story 1, and the "Give them an Oscar!" Toy Story 2.
That there even was a Pixar movie between the two gets conveniently forgotten by history.

I realize that you're referring to this comic strip:

Image

.. which is good for a smile; but is completely disingenuous in that:

-- there really is more to Dreamworks movies' plots than "talking animals doing things animals wouldn't normally do." (no, really; there really is)

-- that 'smirky face' is a pretty standard expression; particularly within generic 'promotional' stills .. and even Pixar uses it, from time to time:

wait .. isn't ShyViolet the 'Appointed Dreamworks Defender' around here..? Why have I had to do this twice during the past ten hours..?

PS .. I notice that the above comic strip fails to acknowledge A Bug's Life, as well. :|

Thanks for thinking of me Droosan! That's sweet. :)

Anyway, Droosan is right, DW have many expressions in their films and that "smirk" is often just the press material.

DW films are often promoted with "attitude", but then so are many animated films, including Rapunzel:

An early Keane drawing, very beautiful but also with that "smirk". :) ;) (Kind of like Po's ;) )
