Yeah I especially like my "radioactive forest" pic. That one rocks!!!
Ha! You can count on me being at Walmart at midnight waiting for the stock boy to put the first movies up. Then I'll take it home and watch it however many times before I have to go to school. Man I'll be tired but that's assuming that it will be good. :)
Then you can count on me making a boat load of avatars when it comes out. That's going to rule.

Bambi, can you make your signature image smaller by 50% please. I asked you once before when someone pointed out it was just too large for the page. Thanks. :)

While I don't think it looks like it would suck you in with it's story, I think it looks FAR from crappy.

The sequels lately have been looking great animation wise, and honestly? I think the animation looks better than the original. Maybe I'm just a sucker for emotions that look really expressive, but I think this:

Looks better than this:

Infact, did Bambi ever use is... uhh eyebrow muscles (??? I dunno what you'd all them), like he does in this one?

It's funny, as I agree that obviously the technical side of animation has improved and makes it easier for the animators intentions to come through, since their line drawings are scanned in and "painted" directly.

BUT...it's like I said when comparing The Jungle Book to Jungle Book 2 - there's a world of difference in the "acting".

Whereas Bambi may express more nowadays, it doesn't have the subtely that the old-school guys, who had to fight against cel painters "interpreting" their animation.

And that's where the paradox lies!

Of course, today's film is going to be a bit more loud and broader to keep the kids' attention spans from wandering, but while the technique of capturing the animators lines has become much better and allowed for many more technical tricks (of course CAPS light and shading is going to beat the smudged on effects of 1942), what the characters are actually doing is far more akin to pantomime and big theatricalities.

I'm not knocking the Australian crew - I think they've done a smashing job and Bambi looks their best yet (under Andreas Deja, of course), but there is that difference.

Now, the REALLY interesting one will be the Fox And The Hound, where the obvious differences between the Xerox'd original and the CAPS repro... :)

Sig 1 taken out, Ben, I will reduce it.

Well my point of view is that well i guess the animacion on Bambi 2 looks better than the bambi 1 and the story is great too... but the first one is the greatest, its animation is too simple in the first one, but it has the greatest story, cause it was planed by disney himself... just as ben said:

But i am not saying bambi 2 will be bad, It will be the greatest sequel i heve ever seen, and i dont think it will be that boring, or suck. I hate sequels but since i am a bambi fan and ive seen this story, the movie wont be that bad, So lets hope the movie is not even close to crappy, and those who had already preordered it, that we havent wasted money. I think it is all i have to say.
I got "twitterpated" by Faline...

I hope they dont sing in this movie that's all I got to say about that. ;) I don't think I'm going to preorder it because once it's out it takes like a couple of days for them to ship it over to your house. So what I think I'm going to do is buy it at Walmart exactly at mid-night.

You actually buy your Diseny DVD's directly form Disney? Why am I just leaning this now?! What's the link to that? You see I was thinking of ordering it form Amazon. I ordered Bambi PE from there and it took like a couple of days after it was released to arrive. I could of bought it at Walmart while I was waiting.
So that's why I'm not in good faith with the pre-ordering... thing.

I swear by my pre-orders. PlayUSA.com always get them to me very quickly - mostly before they're out in the US which is amazing since I live in the UK :)
