It's official... The first Macross movie, Do You Remember Love, bows on Blu ray/Region A in Japan on July 26th.

There will be two versions released.
The first will be the movie bundled with a PS3 game much as was the case with two Macross Frontier motion pictures.
The second release will be a $165 version that has both the theatrical film and the first Blu ray release of Flashback 2012, the music video follow-up/epilogue to the first Macross motion picture.

The more expensive bundle will also have books and at least a few special videos not on the PS3 hybrid release. One of the videos included in the special edition bundle is the full animation created for the Sega Saturn SDF: Macross game. The game included theatrical-quality animation; the animation in question was a prologue of sorts for the 1984 movie.

*********

I know which version I'd get --- the SECOND one.

(The PS3 Macross F games aren't anything to write home about. The movies themselves -- excellent!)

P.S. -- Don't expect English dialogues or subs for this Blu ray release. Macross is still in legal contention IN JAPAN. Harmony Gold ISN'T the reason beyond the lawsuits; there's a disagreement between JAPANESE companies.
