yeah, The Wild can't be compared to Meet the Robinsons and American Dog. I hope the Wild goes straight to video or something. Disney needs to realise they can only benefit from not joining in to overcrowd the market with animated films. If they keep their films, along with Pixar's as obvious seperate releases the audience will begin to recognise what is what and will be able to decide for themselves what they consider to be good and what not. If it all looks the same, in the end nobody will show up. If Disney continues to distribute films like Valiant and The Wild in theaters next to their own and Pixar's films, the audience will be VERY confused and they will only suffer from that.
It sounds cliché but going back to making a Disney film an 'event' is the only right thing to do here. And of course making sure their films stand out compared to the quickly slapped together films such as Hoodwinked. Disney survived all the competition from the traditional animation bandwagon back in the nineties for these reasons. They stayed true to what defined 'Disney' and they stuck to one film a year that many look back on as an annual event.
