Notice how the buildings toppling over is more deliberate in the storyboard version. Glad that was changed.

Earlier in the thread there was some discussion about Judy's male neighbors. No-one posted but Jared Bush, the co-director and screenwriter (plus voice of Pronk) did confirm they are married a few years ago:
Jared Bush wrote:They are a gay married couple. But they don't yell at each other because they're gay, they yell because they're real. 😉
Going by the credits, the hyphenated surnames gave it away, too. Neat. Maybe when that sequel finally comes out they'll pop up again.

Most interested in the one with Fru Fru and Judy's parents. Was hoping for a Bellwether short.

Sneaky! So, because it has a Plus on it, does that make it different to the trademark-infringing Zootopia in Europe and they now get to keep the new name? Or does Europe get it as Zootropolis+ ?

Think it's more in the spirit of "It's not about Judy & Nick (because then Legal would consider it a licensed 'sequel'), it's so much MORE!!"

Looking at the art again, I'm guessing the two arctic shrew's are most likely Mr. Big and Gram-mama! We'll get to see him as a little boy! Shoots up to my #1 now!

The series is set to premiere November 9! Some details:
Laughing Place wrote:Directed by Trent Correy and Josie Trinidad lead this series where each episode changes genre, from a reality series to a dance competition. We were shown a short from the series centered around Mr. Big, titled “The Godfather of the Bride,” which relays the rodent boss’ origin story on this, the day of his daughter’s wedding. If you thought grown-up Mr. Big was cute, wait until you see him as a child!
Yay, called it!

Teaser dropped during D23, have yet to see it posted. Sounds like it will be more of a midquel, think Lion King 1½. Each short will be around 8-10 minutes long. Summaries:

"Hopp on Board" will follow Judy's little sister Molly as she escapes and aboards the train Judy takes at the beginning of the film, aka the "Try Everything" sequence as Judy's parents try to save Molly.

"Godfather of the Bride" will follow Mr. Big on a Sopranos style parody following Fru Fru's wedding from the film as his backstory gets explained.

Duke Weaselton's will be a musical.

"Dinner Rush" is a rom-com with Flash and Priscilla.

"So You Think You Can Prance" follows the story of Chief Bogo and Officer Clawhauser on a game show to get tickets for Gazelle's Concert from the end credits sequence.

They all sound promising. Most interested for Mr. Big and Bogo/Clawhauser.

I wonder if we will get this as Zootopia or Zootropolis+ here? In Europe the Zootopia mark was already being used by an organisation, but technically adding the plus would arguably make that a new, or at least different enough, mark…

Having watched the full episode at D23, Godfather of the Bride (Mr. Big's backstory) is excellent.

Shakira was unavailable to reprise her role as Gazelle, so instead the character will be voiced by Allison Trujillo Strong.
