Disney Pixar's Onward
First bit of info and first look:
Doesn't look too bad actually, it just looks similar to what other studios might put out. Getting a Planet 51 vibe. I see a few Pixar -esque attributes, their 'hair' reminds me Sadness and Joy's, and the skinnier elf reminds me of Linguini.

See, that was the problem with that "Heaven" April-Fool's joke:
It didn't sound so bad either, knowing that Pixar could find original gags in just about any premise, and make it look audience-appealing (at least in their independently-generated non-sequels).

If you don't follow the AV Facebook that's probably why.

I don't, I saw it on Twitter...Ahem, two days EARLY:

(Which, since it wasn't 4/1, I thought, "What? Sounds cute, they could do it! "
If only the "Disney - Pixar" fake logo hadn't given it away.)

Re: Disney Pixar's Onward
Teaser is out!
Oh, I love how this looks! I'm excited for this! I love Chris Pratt's character, he's so cute I love how he's into the dungeons and dragons type stuff, it seems, so he wants to make life like that. I loved the Pegacorn-raccoons! This looks so great, count me in!
By the way, that Heaven project is actually real. But it will be called "Soul" instead.
By the way, is there a way to delete posts?

Nope. No real way, per se. Simply write [POST DELETED] and it will be taken care of. There's no hidden agenda before you ask.
Now on to thy teaser... whoa 80's music again! Thought it was fine. Feels a little same old same old, what with the road trip angle. I'm liking the backdrop of their world.. even if it reminds me of Smurfs. Starting around the 42 second mark, there's some cappella music. I like that. Hope there's more in the actual film. Total Spiralmouth flashback.

What a mouthful! Think I'll just refer to them as Pega-coroons.

Which brings up the question--If Pega-racorns are pests, why would anyone paint them on the side of their van?
Or maybe that's just more of the Chris Pratt character's delusion of "cool" fantasy?

Perhaps he's nostalgic for how they used to look in ye olde time... before they went all 'feral'.

Just a note that the pizzicato music that starts after the plane flies across, up to when Holland's character is knocked over by the pet as he walks in the door, is a licensed use of a Danny Elfman track from - I think from memory - To Die For.
So it’s not written for the film itself and most likely won’t be in it, but it’s a fair indication of the kind of music they may use to introduce us to that world once the film is ready for release, though as cool as it would be, Elfman isn’t the composer on this.

Thanks Daniel! I love the 80's music too and agree about why they painted the pegacoroons on the van!

Re: Disney Pixar's Onward
Well, in our world .. I've seen wolves, bears, wildcats, horses, and probably a few other animals painted on the sides of panel vans. Never any racoons (though such a van might exist, somewhere) .. but all of those other wild animals listed will also root through an open trashcan, if given the chance.
I kinda wonder how it was decided which mythical creatures would be 'people', and which would be 'animals'.
Also: is the 'Japan' of this world populated by oni, tanuki, and kappas..?
And it's nice to see Julia Louis Dreyfus in another Pixar movie..!
