Filming has wrapped!
Hallebailey wrote:and just like that..that’s a wrap ❤️ after auditioning for this film when i was 18 just about to turn 19 , to now finishing filming through a pandemic when i turned 21 ..we have finally made it...💖 i feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory..it has been the toughest experience being away from everything and everyone i’ve ever known, to feeling self doubt/ loneliness, but also feeling such freedom and perseverance as i’ve reached the end. this experience has made me so much stronger than i ever thought i could be. i’m so grateful to have such lovely and talented people in the cast like @jonahhauerking that will be my friend for infinite lifetimes, @jacobtremblay who i’m so proud of 🥺 and legends like @bardemantarctic @melissamccarthy @awkwafina @daveeddiggs who are masters of their craft but are so welcoming and open to little old me..as well as to the rest of the beautiful cast and crew. i cannot wait for time to speed up so you all can watch this film because it was made with so much love (plus blood sweat and tears) lol thank you sardinia for a wonderful ending!!! xoxo.

Teaser:

Halle has a nice enough voice. Dislike the visuals so far. It's so dull and muted. Where's the bubbles!? Don't like what we see of Flounder.

Not gonna lie, I hated the singing of the word 'be', mainly cause it makes me worried about how the rest of Ariel's singing will be during that song. I don't know what the technical term is but I'm not a fan of singers who turn a single syllable into multiple notes to make it seem like they are emoting. And the 'world' could have been held a little longer like it was in the original movie.

For the rest of the trailer, I'm not hating what I'm seeing but I still don't understand from an artistic view what the point of these live action remakes is. Especially since live action seems to result in the songs being slowed down to accomodate the fact that humans can't move as fast, or can defy gravity, like they do in animation, so the choreography can't be a fluid as the original. I was going to type maybe this will be different since there will be a lot of cgi but then I remembered Be Our Guest from the live action that shall not be named was painfully slow as was I Just Can't Wait To Be King in that other abomination.

Will I see this, of course I will BUT will I see it in the cinema? Who knows, especially now that I just have to wait basically a terms worth of working before it arrives on Disney+

Not quite feeling chills, but I like what I see (and hear), actually. I do have a weird fascination with these live action remakes. They are always odd endeavors - and yes, basically pointless and almost inevitably disappointing - yet it's interesting to see the choices made.

Has anyone coined the name "Afriel" yet?
