Avengers, Avatar and Spireted Away Battle at the China Box Office and First Place Ever!

China looking to hollywood to restart the movie chains there asking for the big blockbusters to rerelease.

Hollywood hurting said yes.

Due to this all four avengers films, avatar, inception, wondering earth, intersteller and studio ghibili's spirited away will battle each other at the china box office!


This could give Hollywood a much needed boost.
It also means the battle between endgame and avatar is back and avatar could beat endgame to take back first place or endgame could stop it!

Also spirited away was first in japan for a decade before your name beat it could jump up in the world wide charts also.


So the avatar vs endgame battle is back on!

For "Hollywood" read "Disney", and then, of course, this is really Disney vs coronavirus, since there is speculation here that they are opening up too quickly and may well see remnant strains of the virus return and kick the whole thing off again.

Yes, I know Diz doesn’t own all the films in release, but their five are the ones that all eyes are on.

We can hope...but in this "battle of the brands", it may not even be a movie that wins this round...

Quite sensible. It seemed like at least a few weeks too soon to consider such a move.

And Warner, of course, has Inception.

But Disney has a very vested interest in seeing Chinese theaters re-open again, if they don't want "Mulan", "Black Widow" and "Shang-Chi" to go straight to D+.
(And wait, what happened to "Theaters are down!", and then "They liked Wandering Earth better!", and then "Theaters are down again!", even before the virus?)

I wonder how long it will take to revitalize. People could be ready to get out and do something or still a little shy about going into public to a crowded theater.

If you want to be realistic, things won’t be getting back to normal until the end of the year. There is good news from the Formula 1 world today with their new ventilators, that will help thousands avoid intensive care, but forget Chump's ridiculous predictions of Easter — it’s going to be a weird *Christmas* this year.

Trump's already backed off of Easter, unless Easter is on the 30th this year.

Which should coincide nicely with the weather turning warmer (the virus doesn't transport well over certain temperatures) which Trump will undoubtedly take credit for too.

Absolutely no evidence that Covid reacts, or retracts, at any temperatures. That’s an early hope that hasn’t been tested, although someone here made a point the other day by saying one word: hello...Australia?

Florida, which is already having temps in the 30s Celsius (80-90F), has racked up 5000 cases. Granted, they also have lots of foolishness going on with crowds at beaches, etc., but I don't think we can count on high temps to neutralize the virus.
