Don't tell that to MCU fans that think Endgame managed to surpass Titanic and Avatar.
Well, that's probably because nobody CARES about "Worldwide grosses!" except for Warner/DC, Avatar and Alita fans. :P

We already know nobody cares about Chinese grosses except for studio blockbusters.

Speaking of harry potter---

The trade reiterates that this could be in reference to the rumoured live-action TV series coming to HBO Max, but note that "on the movie front, there's talk Warner Bros. could be developing a new tentpole based on the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play."

For us in the know, this is old news! ;)

The plan is for Fantastic Beasts to play out as a trilogy over the next six years (16, 18, 20) and for a two-part movie Cursed Child to then come a year or two after that. WB don't have to get the rights, they automatically have them (JKR only retains publishing).

I don't know anything about then extending that to a new series, but they'll probably want to. As far as I understand it, it's just two movies for now, like the stage play is two parts.

The hope is that WB can convince the original cast to return, by which point they would be approaching the right ages. Although if you look at his facial features, Tom Hiddleston would be a good Harry!

Can't say how I know, but I'm not a million miles away from Leavesdon Studios... ;)
Obviously since then, Beasts has expanded to five films instead of three, and the pandemic has put the timing back a year or two, but this can only be good for the actors' ages in playing the older characters.

I keep thinking that 2022 is so far away whenever it is announced for a release date. I think I'm permanently stuck in 2020.

Yeah, that’s exactly how I feel too. Weird times alright. :?
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

What happened to Depp was very unfair. Or so I’ve Heard…

Oh, whew, it's just the director, not Warner in its Franchise-Nostalgia Old-Cast Reunion rebooting phase.
Nothing to see here, don't scare us like that.
