A&O and sequels also went to Splash. There is no mystery. A bunch of flops put Crest out of business and, as happens so often when films are in active production, someone else picked them up to finish them. There’s enough money in these kinds of things on home video to make a series of films viable…until they aren’t.

It's strange because I've heard rumors that originally the second Alpha and Omega was going to be a theatrical film, but it seems that I can't find any sources to verify that.

If Alpha and Omega was a success, then why did Crest Animation shut down, and why hasn't Richard Rich produced another theatrical film since?
