netflix just bought the complete ronald dahl library. They now own willy wonka, matilda, james and the giant peach and other stories.

Calling it now: We'll get Matilda: the Series, LONG before Warner gets a chance to milk more last house-franchise drops out of Willy Wonka.
I'm not sure what the whole fascination is with the movie and Broadway, but I'm guessing it's issues. (Otherwise, it wouldn't have gotten a Broadway musical.)

If Netflix gets so desperate that we get a "real" Dahl-friendy do-over of Fantastic Mr. Fox, though, the money will not have gone to waste.

Well, that’s just a list of books he wrote and had published, not exactly what Netflix actually own now. The Gremlins was a work for hire at Disney's, who retain the rights on that.
