(And besides, "Around the World" was the better earworm Aqua song--Don't call them a "One-hit wonder" if they had two!)
Guessing Eric is from North America. Cause people from Europe and Australia, at least, would never refer to Aqua as a one hit or two hit wonder.
Not surprised Mattel isn't including Aqua's song due to the infamous law case. And my goodness those altered lyrics for the ads are terrible and I think if it's not the original lyrics, people would riot and bad mouth the movie because of it.
I like the look, but when did Ken go blonde? And why is Ken so old?
Freddie Prinze Fred is not something to aspire to.
Honestly it really looks like they photoshopped Ryan's head onto a younger body - even though I know that's not the case. The dye job on his hair seems to accentuate the aging face.
For a teaser it did its job. I've gone from I don't want to see it to, maybe I will based on how it's received. And considering the tone it seems to be going for, it really is a shame there is no plan to use Aqua's Barbie Girl.
Very clever and well done teaser! Now I’m intrigued. Yeah, certainly looks like there will be at least one musical sequence, if not a full on musical number, or numbers. Loohks a bit ca-razey, me likey!
From the character posters above, I love how they are going with this, and the trailer pays it off: multiple Barbies and Kens? Cool idea. Obviously it is going to ultimately just be about one particular Barbie, and Ken, by the look of it, but looks like wherever they are (and whoever is playing with them??) has a lot of the differently available dolls. Is this another Lego Movie set-up? Is Ferrell the same/similar businessman character? Is this all set in a Mattel development lab? Lots of fun questions! Hope the eventual movie is as bonkers but potentially brilliant as it looks…!
The movie is definitely set in a play world that's for sure. But after the first brilliant teaser, this one has undone a lot of the good will from the first one. And has made me less enthusasitic. The humour shown in the trailer reeks of the writing team thinking they are more hilarious than they actually are. And I think someone is going to have to tell me how much Will Ferrell is in the movie before I watch this, Because honestly, he is a deal breaker these days for me with comedy movies.
I also wish they had Ryan say Hi ya Barbie. Since they've said they don't plan to use the Aqua song, it would have been a nice little Easter egg to acknowledge the song's existence
